Hatchery breeder? Adipose is clipped. Either way, I’d like to hook into it.

Had a pair of Abels for years. Thought I’d be trendy and get Simms’ new Pro Nipper for this season... and they SUCK! They won’t even cut backing let alone braided line. I’m so pissed! I was stoked to use the threader feature.

Generally curious on the purpose of expensive nippers. Saw some Orvis ones for 100 bucks recently at my local fly shop. I just use finger nail clippers. Figured once they go dull I can just buy another for 2 bucks. Am I missing something with the fly fishing specific ones ?

You know how it is, slap fly fishing on something and it automatically is marked up exponentially. I understand that you get what you pay for, but it irritates me how expensive so much fly fishing gear can run. I think it intimidates and turns off a lot of beginners.

The fancy name-brand nippers sink just like the rest. Got a pair of the Simms nippers for Christmas one year. They now reside somewhere at the bottom of the San Juan River. I buy the ones out of the bins on fly shop counters now. Better to invest in a quality zinger, and they’ll be there when you need them.

Enough to make it a lot of fun!
Got out on a beautiful 53* day in the rocky mountains. It was a slow day but still pulled a 10" brown in.

Great photo! I've been all over CO but I've never made it to Steamboat. It's at the top of my list to visit.

This was several months ago but my brother and I fished the White River near Bull Shoals, Arkansas. He landed this hog on a double nymph drift.

That there looks to be a Lahontan cutthroat. They are as wild as they come sir.

To many streams in PA that hold wild trout are stocked over!!

We are blessed with spring water and wild trout though. If you know where to look!
