Man my 22r was easily that best running motor I’ve had after is was built... mild build 150ish hp and I’ve had 2 3.4s

 

@ajohnson curious if you have tried running rotella 15-40 in your 22re? I tried it and never looked back. Can’t remember where that came from though

 

I got a complete 2uz setup for helping a friend, but after debating the effort and $4K+ in parts and adapters to make it fit, and the brake booster being in the way removing the #8 coil pack, I’ve decided to stick with the 22re for now and turbo it. It is such an easy engine to work on.

 

I have seen a lot of talk about it, but I stick with 10w30. My valves are pretty quiet. I currently use Mobil 1 w/ zinc additive but will switch to Amsoil Z-Rod soon.

 

meh, I’d do a 5.3 or 6.0 paired with a TH400 and atlas before trying to make the 2UZ fit.

 

That would work, and I have a couple of old GM cargo vans with 6.0’s I could buy for cheap from my company.

that was my plan for the 22r!! I hate I sold it I had forged internals, new cam, valves, springs, complete rebuild with lc engineering parts, Weber carb, high flow oil pump, hooker headers I’m sure I’m forgetting shit but damn it was a blast to drive

but no AC, and my job required long hot days, the last thing I wanted to do was sit in traffic with no AC

2uz is the v8 Lexus motor right??? If so we saw a late 80s truck with one and a complete 4wheelunderground link kit with won tons at URE it was a very nice and clean build.

1uz is the Lexus motor, SC400’s and LS400’s, aluminum block with thick rods. 2uz is in the tundras and landruiser, iron block but thinner rods.
