I would think that the procedure itself would carry some big risks at his age.

 

It’s amazing they can do the stuff they do . The valve itself is from a cow wrapped in a stainless steel stent . Folded up go through an incision in the groin all the up into aorta then a balloon opens it up . Out come the catheter.

 

1% chance of death the DR said . They do about 250 a year at this hospital.

 

It’s funny he is that guy that never would go to the doctor and he has made it to almost 84 ( this month ) never on any medication until 3 weeks ago . He had a hernia operation years ago that my wife forced him to get fixed . That’s it in almost 84 years .

Let's just say... I am beyond terrified

 

Last time I had to go to the hospital they stuck a camera where the sun doesn't shine in the other exit only orifice in my body. Hopefully yours goes better much better than that one.

I had the catheter when I had my back surgery..... I highly DO NOT recommend that on anyone.
