Well, the MGB is my father's. It's a white 1974 MGB with wire spoke wheels.

I just called him about it and I guess he's having it reupholstered and a new top made (maybe just repairs to the original?). I guess he is also going to restore the body this Spring. It doesn't have any real body issues, but the MGBs of that generation had an issue with the trunk support creating a kink in the trunk sheet metal because they were placed poorly.:notsure:

Oh and it needs a tune and a new tail light.

I'll get some pictures of it when it's out of storage. The really interesting thing about this MGB is that my dad traded a legit Japanese sword for it. I'll see if he remembers who made the sword. I know who it went to, so I might be able to track that down as well.

The only reason it isn't the best coupe available is because they went with the 4cyl boxer instead of a new 6 cyl IMHO. It's fun, but more of an autocross type car than american high speedy boi.

That's awesome, I love old British roadsters. My neighbor had two MGBs but recently moved, so I don't get to stare at them anymore.

I feel swords need to be a more commonly accepted form of currency...

a 4 banger would have been fine if it was built different or had a turbo the 2.0 is just gutless and slow it sounds good but thats about it

With my 0 offset wheels and lift, this truck is orders of magnitude more amazing to drive.

We may have smuggled one out of Japan last time we were there...:anonymous:

Listen, I'm making it sound more Lupin-esque than it was, but there was a moment at the airport that I thought we were done.

You have to keep it wound up to like 5500 - 6k rpm to make it do anything. It took a while for me to be comfortable doing that, but it makes a huge difference. It is just a different drive.

I had a coworker that had an rx8 and it was totally dead under like 3k, you typically drove at like 7 and shifted at 10 or something. It would be so weird

still love the looks and exhaust note they make but it just wasnt worth it to me. part of me does wish i went that route since it would have been cheaper but i also really like my si only other car i wish i would have gotten is the current gen of mx-5

Ours is MT. The Lady isn't opposed to a turbo, we just have a wedding to pay for. It'll probably be on our registry lol
