he'll be 2 in april. Also agree that i don't want to get him used to bad habbits. originally my goal for this year was just for him to get on skis and be able to balance. then last weekend he started sking straight down the bunny hill on his own, so i'm out of goals for him haha. he's a pretty strong walker/climber, but i dont know that he will take to instructions of doing thing with his body like "put pressure on outside ski" kind of thing. i tried showing him wide legs and even spreading his legs apart while stopped, but he wasn't a fan/didnt understand. but your airplane visual is a good idea, he likes running around like an airplane at home. and don't get me wrong, i'm not looking to try to train a ski racer prodigy; if this is his limit this year, at least he got used to it and has so far had fun (and so have mom and I :) - that's really the best part).

As long as he's having fun in the snow at that age the rest doesn't really matter.

Anyone down for some wheeling this weekend? About a half hour east of Fallon. Sunday weather will be better, camping could also be done Saturday night. Nothing crazy, maybe a little snow, possible brush scratches.

Some cool stuff out in there.

Went out there last spring and it was great. Easy drive and surprisingly good cell coverage.

Yeah, we'll hit a little bit of Dixie valley. There's a little slot canyon that dumps into a Pine-y basin and over into bench creek, then back over to the old wonder mine. Ive been on it in my sxs a few years ago and I've wanted to check it out again. If anyone wanted to camp there's another slot canyon with a little waterfall thats all pretty neat. I like hitting the low desert stuff early spring/ late winter before it gets hot. Lunch or dinner at middlegate is always a plus too.

    For sure.
The locals are... eccentric, but I think that's a requirement to live in a place like that.

Goddamn that sounds like fun. I haven't had a chance to 'froad with the group up here yet, but alas I am continuing to paint the new place this weekend then moving in the next. If you guys are doing something later this month or in April, I'm in.

Driven by tons of times but only stopped in once. Fresh grilled burger and a beer was great and I think less than $10.

We make it a point to go out there a few times a year. Just avoid it during sheep season. It's a mess.

I can do a day trip either Sat/Sun, can't swing the over-nighter though.

Yeah, overnighter would be tough for me too. Let's plan on Sunday.

Kid friendly? *edit... forgot about the maintenance on my wife's vehicle that I've been putting off since January and promised to take care of tomorrow. Next time hopefully.
