I mean, by that logic, GQ didn't really do anything wrong either......

That's fantastic. Glad to see it still on the road!

Another friend of mine used to collect Triumphs. I think at one point he had seven or eight in a slightly oversized two-car garage

Lol. Long story. The original engine spun a main bearing just out of warranty. Austin took pity, sent dad a complete new engine - in pieces. The guy who put it together did a bad job, and it burned oil. Eventually Dad got tired of carrying around a case of oil in the trunk and swapped in a 5.0 ford. Drove it till the salt got to it, took it apart in the late 80s. It sat in pieces till the early 2000s when we realized the engien was still good, got it rebuilt, and got it moving again.

TLDR; Complete frame off. Rebuilt engine, 5 speed manual transmission, 9" ford rear end.

There's a guy around the corner that seems to have a collection going too. Seems like there's 3 or 4 at his house at any one time. I need to wander over there sometime and chat him up.

Same though. That's why I asked. I was thinking, "FFS it's a good thing I don't have to think about that nonsense with the Taco."
