Got my 6112's assembled by my parts store. Just noticed that they installed one of the springs upside down. Does it matter? I am thinking not, but I want to make sure, before I install them.

The springs should be mounted so the "bilstein can be read when they are mounted on the truck. This comes from bilstein themselves....

That's exactly what I was wondering.
    Thanks.

Anyone done 6112s, added the 650# springs, and not had a bumper/winch up front? I want to do a hybrid bumper eventually, but that'll be a later project. I'm wondering how nose high it'll be without the extra weight.

Plan is for 6112s at the 5/6 notch. 5160 rear with the 4-600lb Deavers.

It is going to be a little stiffer up front without the weight, and even though I have a 2nd gen, with 650 springs in my 6112's, I added the weight before I switched from 600 to 650 lb springs. It went up about 3/4" afterwards and settled to about a 1/2" higher than the 600 lb springs. Once again, even though I don't own a 3rd gen, logic would dictate that you mount the 650lb springs and have them mounted on the 3/4 notch first without the weight, then when you add the weight, move the notch to 5/6.

Are there anything on the springs to indicate how many lbs they are? I'm supposed to be standard 600lb but seems like my lift is very high.

Thinking of doing this same thing prior to getting a bumper. Would you mind letting me know what your current ride height is from center of hub to fender, and what notch you are on?

You are probably right, these come stock with the 6112s so hard to imagine anyone really needing these unless they’re downgrading from 650# and somehow lost the original set. Changing ad to make an offer

I installed some deaver stage 2 springs and my ride height jumped up to 26in from center of hub to fender. I then reset my spring perch to the 5th notch and it now sits at 24in in the front from center hub to fender. My question is what are my options to get closer to level? will going to the 650# bring it up some? I want to avoid a strut spacer.

What were the stock hub to fender measurements that you started from?

It’s been awhile I’m not sure. Prior to putting the deavers on I was 23.5 front and rear with 6112 on 4th notch and stock leafs with icon AAL

Alright so finished installing the Bilstein 650 springs.
This is with sliders, hybrid front bumper, winch.
Set at 5/5 with lean spacer. The fronts sit at just above 23”
Haven’t done alignment yet so thinking about raising it to 6/6 or 6/5 with 1/4 spacer on both sides anyone done this before?

I'm 2wd 6/5 1/4" top plate on both sides and it was sitting at 25" after install. After a week(200 mi) and, might've dropped 1/4"

I'm almost ready to pull the trigger on a my new suspension. Looking for some feedback on my plans and see what I'm missing. For perspective this is my first time lifting a Tacoma, my 4th time owning one and I plan to keep it forever.

    The Plan
Going for a level, 2-2.5" lift to accommodate 285/70/17 ATs

Front setup: 6112 shocks (I actually found some in stock somewhere) with 650lb springs due to ARB deluxe bumper and likely throw on a winch next year. For the springs, most are out of stock, can I use a regular 3"x14" spring for 2.5inch shocks from anyone as long as it is 650lb? Wheeler's sells a proprietary named 650lb spring for 2.5 inch shocks for $170, I'm guessing there won't be anything too different and alternative is waiting months for bilstein springs. EXTRAS- new strut mount, insulator, bushing, and washers. Seems like top mount spacers are frowned on and don't really understand why I need one or not...

Rear setup: Edit: found 5160s in stock so yeah, 5160s. Springs will be Deaver expedition stage 2 (400-600lbs) (haven't looked too hard yet but probably hard to get) due to camper shell, roof rack, bed platform and drawer system, canopies, and possible RTT on the shell next year.
EXTRAS- OME Driveshaft carrier bearing drop kit, bushings (which ones?) and u-bolt kit (which ones?)

Things I'm confused on after all my reading:
-taco lean and shimming-reasons and methods to compensate
-top mount spacers, as discussed above
-exactly how much lift is too much lift before needing to replace control arms. I don't have it in the current plan or budget, staying stock.
