    I realize you said you aren't responding going forward, so I don't have a lot of hope for this, but I submitted a ticket on the 22nd of February in Zendesk and have been waiting patiently for a response. None has ever come. So people post here trying to get your attention specifically because you don't respond to Zendesk tickets.

    I respond to tickets every single day, anywhere from 50-100+. But it also depends what it is. What is your zendesk ticket #.


    Another thing too. If it is not a reply to your original ticket (if you are making a NEW ticket) it goes to our unassigned folder, which is backed up with 200+ "new" emails.

    it's always best to reply to your original ticket, not make a new one. If you make a new one it doesn't keep any content of your original stuff and we have to manually go through and find all older tickets for context. We are working on a way to auto-merge tickets from people so we don't have to do this.


    Not saying that is what you did, but that is a big delay for some folks. Our unassigned is "any" new ticket, wether it be legit, spam, unrelated, etc.

    There are industry standards for amateur auto tuning? I dunno if such standards exist elsewhere, but I do recognize that up til now they were selling a product that people were buying once and then profiting off because of the relaxed licensing terms. Now it's win-win, people can still do that and have excellent profit margins _and_ OVTune (no @ :) ) gets a cut.

    Are you asking if open code standards for an industry of millions of software engineers act the same as a very niche amateur auto-tuning business? No, but they also don't have to. More directly to your point... as a software developer myself I can say that most tools are free. Not all, but most. Why is that? Because the money is made with the platforms. And in fact, when it comes to these platform-as-a-service providers they almost always charge a usage-based fee.

    VFTuner is a platform. I guarantee if OVTune just wanted to sell single-tune kits he absolutely could, but instead he wants to provide more value to both you and his company. Usage-based fees are totally normal; just pass the $40 VIN fee on to your own customer if you're concerned about it. Or you can do what they did and spend tens or hundreds of thousands writing your own software (which you can let people use without a usage-based fee).

    EDIT: I am sorry if I'm coming across as a jerk or anything, especially if it isn't your intention to criticize, but I have a professional distaste for how much software engineering efforts are undervalued.

    When creating a tune (at least on our side of things) we are coding anything. We are just altering the configurations within the codes platform.

    Yes regarding the T4R, I'm working on getting you ECU Version, sorry I meant to tell you along with the D10 ECU is yours and one other.

    Yes and no. You don't get charged to write your code. However depending what studio / IDE you use, you have to invest thousands of dollars, on top of all the resources, plugins, yearly subscriptions, licensing on those plug ins, etc.

    the code studio we use costs several thousands of dollars up front. Not a freebie visual studio.




    if anyone truly believes we are overcharging you, I would highly recommend you look at the average licensing cost on other tuning platforms. You may have a heart attack. We probably could charge more. But like it was said, everyone wins when it's affordable. Most people who want a tune don't care about power, they want their truck to drive right. I don't see how charging high license fees is a win for anyone. It makes our software more expensive, less available to the average user, and a harder sell for the customers who provide services to trucks we can't. May not sound like much but I am truly proud of what has been accomplished with vF Tuner in the little time it's been available, and don't want to ruin a good thing. That being said, we are a business, and can't survive on $0. Supporting us gets you more goodies.

    So I noticed that the instructions that were delivered with my master key say that “There's a maximum of three (3) installs of the program allowed.”

    Does this mean that I can use my second, more rugged, laptop for on the road tuning while still being able to use my home laptop for my own tuning needs?

    I found a workaround so it wasn't as urgent as when I sent it... but it would still be nice to have the requested link.

    It's new... so nothing yet
    This may have been asked before... But I'll ask anyways. Anyone running the Mild & Wild 3.1 getting occasional engine stuttering? It's not like the transmission is looking for a gear, but as though there's not enough fuel. While cruising at speed, its not noticeable, but when I give it gas I get the stutter. Tried both, slow speed up and fast speed up. It's the same on both. I do have the K&N intake. Any help would be appreciated.
