Oh yeah. I'd just need the X-grip since I have the DMM.

I've had one in my cart a few times.

Oh boy. That's a serious mount.

This is where I'm currently at. Just a bit of drilling.

Love my DMM and xgrip (phone), but I'm not sure I would put the weight of even a light laptop on there. That doesn't seem good for the trim piece.

With the sandwiched metal, I think it would be good on pavement. Folks are using it with tablets and off road navigation. My phone has done well enough with that.

The Surface seems to be a middle weight. I'd hate to see it fall though.

In the dealer right now getting this done. As soon as I saw this, I jumped on it.
Dealer took my truck in and is performing it right now, and they're happy to do it.

Didn't even have an appointment, just showed up.
Rick McGill's in Alcoa TN. Great dealership.

I recommend verifying it was performed, either yourself with OV software or with most code readers, or having them show you the resulting ECU version readout that shows following the update.

I've tuned lots of people who had the dealer perform the TSB and then I discover they were lied to

Just saw this "TSB-0043-20 Rev 1" on page 1 and wondering when it came out? I have a '19MT with 04B41 so is this the first TSB for mine? Is there a Toyota link I can view to read about it? Or am I just seeing things now...but pg1 says it updates ECU ID to 04B42 unless I'm mistaken...

I'm waiting on that TSB. It is an assumption for the moment as the Canadian TSB has the same symptoms and data as TSB-0043-20 Rev 0.

Alright peeps. I'm currently waiting at my dealership to see if they'll do it. Was not off to a good start. After explaining the symptoms my truck has, matching what the TSB says, my service advisor says, "yeah I've heard that a lot with these and it's normal operation" and adds "did they tell you that there will be a $62.50 charge if the tech finds that its operating normal".

I explained that my truck has 12k miles and is still under full warranty adding that it's also certified through Toyota. The advisor says the certification doesn't mean anything for this. I then explained that I'm not interested in continuing the service appointment if I'm going to be charged 62 bucks if the tech says it's "normal".

I then showed the service advisor both TSBs issued by Toyota. The advisor then looks in the computer and says, "yeah this should be covered under your full warranty". Advisor then says, "boy it looks like you've done your homework and most of the techs job" before taking the TSBs I provided and stapling them to the check in paper work.

I'm not waiting to see if they'll actually do the dame update. I don't understand why it has to be such a pain in the dick for them to do it.

On on positive note. The waiting lobby I'm currently in is top notch.

    Sorry for the rant.

Welp. All set gents. Dealership did the update. Advisor changed his tune rather quickly and the tech knew exactly what I was referring to. Had me in and out in under an hour. I'll be back to that dealership if needed.

I checked on my OBD. Is my ECU now on the correct software?

Glad that they helped you out.

Yeah. I'm expecting a new TSB for the 2016 to 2018 ATs that will be similar to the TSB-0092-20 tune.

Wow!, I had the exact opposite experience with my dealer. She didn't even ask anything exept what the issues were. I gave her the keys, the tech did the update, we took a drive to check it, and everyone was smiles and thanks.

Have you noticed any difference? The first thing i noticed was the throttle felt better.

I also noticed it doesn't hunt for gears when going up an incline, and it shifts down with far less throttle effort when you want it to. It will still go to the most fuel efficient gear while you are cruising, but it shifts alot smoother and when you accelerate, it picks a more appropriate gear to shift down to if needed.

It isn't quite like pushing the ECT button, but the driving experience is much more pleasant now.

As part of the TSB they reset the LV, AT, and clear DTC’s. Truck will be relearning it’s old ways so drive it aggressively while it’s relearning. It will be better than it was, but will still revert to many of its old ways as it “learns”.

It was a short drive home. The pedal does feel more responsive and the surge between 40-50 is much improved, if not gone all together. I'll get back after a few days with some highway driving.

That's an assumption. Attached are the current flash instructions, that step does not exist.

Some shops will do the Resets, but most won't, just like applying the underhood label.

I’ve done several, the wizard prompts you to clear DTC’s and I thought it also said to do the AT/LV. I’ll have to check my screen shots.

DTCs are reset anytime a flash happens, just like they are when the battery is disconnected.

This is an amazing resource. Huge thank you @tonered for putting this together and maintaining it and to everyone else who has contributed! :D

I noticed the most current TSBs are not in the spreadsheet image from @dilbert. I am wondering if the spreadsheet has been updated. If so could we have a new image please? Or better yet a view only link to the spreadsheet. A view only link would be searchable, and that would be amazing.

If it's not updated, I would be happy to help with the updates if @dilbert was interested.
