You're gonna see four 150hp electric motors on a Tacoma before you see a twin turbo or V8 mass produced.

Skunkworks is the Lockheed division that develops secret and very highly advanced aircraft aircraft like the U-2, A-12, SR-71, F117, F-22, F35, et. al. they build the things that make people think they've seen a UFO over the Nevada desert.

A hybrid Tacoma is almost a UFO. Hell, A V8 or diesel Tacoma really is a UFO in that it is wrapped in rumors, people think they are real, the government probably has a crashed one with technology on board they don't understand, and people have seen one or were abducted by one in some far away land and no one believes them. Ever go to the dealer and have a lost time experience or get some sort of probe from a satellite orbiting Uranus while being told "that's normal"? See... exactly like a UFO. Mystery solved.

Tundy is going to a twin turbo V6 so nah, no V8 for the taco.

If they're going TT V6 on the Tundy, its not unreasonable to expect a turbo 4 or 6 in a taco. If they ran the new tundra motor in the taco, I think it'd rock some worlds. Supposedly its quicker than the older V8.

Mr. T will go Hybrid before turbo. Better low end torque, towing, fuel milage.

To the contrary, one of the test panel drivers was talking about it as best he could under NDA a couple weeks ago on our local Utah Toyota fb group.

They'll take their preproduction but finished truck fleet and have people drive them around for a while to give feedback.

    Check build thread!
They're actually buying the rights for the 7.3 godzilla motor from Ford, adding a 8-71 blower with Billet internals and then mating it to a 18 speed shaker.
