I’m bored and need ideas.

THIS COULD BE A GREAT COMPILATION POST FOR NEW PEOPLE LOOKING FOR “INTRO” TO MODS ON HERE AS I’VE DONE A LOT OF THE BASIC ONES!

Long story short, I’ve been a Tacoma (and truck in general) owner for all of around 6 months at most and I’ve done damn near every mod I could find useful on TacomaWorld (thanks everyone for all of your advice, ideas, and input...this site is GREAT and the people are even better - most of them at least. Lol).

Anywho, I’m bored and need some more ideas of things/mods that people have found useful. Before anyone posts a bunch of links to “first mods”, I’ve done thorough searching on here. Read a ton of threads. Even searched elsewhere. I’m at a stopping point on what I have seen.

Below is a list of everything I have done/came factory on my truck.

Anyone have anything you have done that may not be widely known that you have found useful.

As a note; I’m not into off-roading or anything of that nature, so that has knocked quite a few mods off the wish list (good and bad. Haha). My truck is strictly used for every day driving on surface streets.

Any ideas/input would be great!!!

-Desert Does It front seat jackers (drivers side only...passenger can suck it. Lol)

-Hydroflask mod using molle style water pouch (can’t remember official name of the mod on here)

-Factory wheel upgrade from advanced blackout package (black factory wheels and Duratrac tires)
-Matte black hood scoop decal (helps stop sun from beaming into my eyes)

-Brake, turn, reverse, and license plate LEDs
-Raptor lights (awaiting harness to run from DRL)
-TSS logo tinted (hasn’t caused any issues with TSS)
-Low profile front license plate bracket (self made)
-Grill Tri color emblem
-Side mirror sequential smoked black LED turn signals
-Tyger roll up tonneau cover
-Predator side steps
-Mud flaps
-Under hood lighting
-Factory bed lights

Things I plan on doing:

Things I’ve thought about but can’t really justify (wouldn’t really get any actual usage from them):
-A couple inches lift; I know nothing about it and if I did it, I’ve heard there’s a ton of other items you should replace at the same time. If anyone wants to provide a rundown of that, along with rough pricing, I’d be happy to listen
-Rock lights (they’re cool, but would I use them for their intended purposes? No)
-Hood scoop light (would never use it for its actual purpose)
-Hidden bumper light bar (same as above)

I can afford to do basically whatever I want to the truck (paid off 2021 TRD Sport). However, I am smart enough to know that I should only do something that I would actually get use out of (or find super cool)

Hopefully that makes sense.

Edit: me and my wife have separate bank accounts so she couldn’t care less what I do with my money...and would never know anyways. Lol

My fave addition was the puddle lights, followed by ditch lights. I use em constantly.

 

Thanks! I’m already signed up for emails on the MESO puddle lights. I thought about making some myself, but it’s easier to use his. All of his products have been top notch so I’d rather spend the extra coin and get quality instead of rigging something up myself.

 

Seems that you now only are missing engine performance mods...Magnuson SC, upgraded cat-back exhaust, ECU flash or OVTune...

 

Thanks! Never really been into engine upgrades, but I’ve thought about doing the OVTune. Truck seems kind of sluggish and lacks throttle response in some cases.

From what I’ve heard, it doesn’t affect the warranty and I don’t really risk damaging anything. Is that correct?

If so, I actually like the way it looks. Seen plenty of people on here that don’t, but half of them use their TRD Off-road to ride through parking lots. Lol.
