I've driven by a ton of campgrounds along the Crooked just below the dam that are never full - I'm sure you guys could snag a spot out there if needed.

Anybody recommend a quality body shop in Bend? (no hacks). My wife hit a frozen snow berm and bashed in the bumper on our Subaru, blew off the cheesy plastic fender well cover and beaked the fog light.

Mars in bend sucks. Do not go there
Precision is good they fixed my sisters X3 and it was pretty good. There is a new shop here in Redmond that they say is really good but just depends how OCD you are

Check out Auto Body Concepts off American Ln. They did a great job on my taco several years back, great to work with- handled all the insurance stuff with no headaches and worked with me on using as many OEM parts as possible.

I dunno if you can help me with this one, seems hardly anyone opts for the square main tube, and I'm wondering why?

Still available. Square main tube is just easier to weld, supposedly a bit stronger. Let me know if you're interested.

Does anybody still use a cb? I'm wondering if mine even works. I made a few changes to the system but I get nothing except static at all times for a couple +yrs; even on the hwy. And by nothing but static I mean nothing but static. I think I'll retune it this weekend.
Thinking about going gmrs. Soooooooooo much more clear on the audio and stronger signals/ distance.

I would highly recommend checking out Mike’s Custom Toys out of Grants Pass who is also a member on this forum. Did a lot of research before I had mine done and couldn’t find anyone around here that I trusted to do the work. People all over the west coast make the trip because he does really good work and is a nice trustworthy guy also. Had them do my 4.88 gears and also had him install my front locker. Couldn’t be happier with the work and customer service. Definitely worth the drive!

If you are going to make the trek out of Bend, would you just be better off going to Washington and having The work done at Nitro gears?

My concern is getting the break in done after install, with having a long high speed trip back. Isn’t there a process with driving, stopping, slowing gears to keep, driving rinse/repeat ?

Im not sure myself, genuinely just asking based on things I’ve read on TW regarding regear.

Ehh you gotta remember these trucks new also need to break in gears and I bet you no one follows a process to break them in. I wouldn’t worry about it

For one, Grants Pass is about two hours closer and over 100 less miles away. Second, not sure if they would take the time to do this or not, but Mike took the time to run my truck through several heat cycles before I picked it up which saved me a lot of time so I could basically just drive it straight home (although I stopped several times to let it cool just to be safe). Third, they were on national back order when I wanted to get mine done before we went on a trip to Moab but Mike’s had the gears and ARB locker in stock so I didn’t have to wait to get it done. And last, after talking to both I felt more comfortable having Mike’s do it as they seemed more down to earth and didn’t treat me like I was just another customer.
I like helping the little guys out over the corporate dudes whenever I can. Especially when they own, work on, and play with Toyota’s themselves.

Thank you, this is the answer I was looking for. I wasn’t too concerned about the distance from a convenience standpoint as I was the break in and heat cycles required for gear swaps, and then driving higher speeds on the trip back.

I will def consider them if/when I am ready for the gear swap.
