Bilstein 5100s - Torch Add A Leaf Footprint Gas Pedal
Long time listener, first time poster!

Today, I finally got my Bilstein 5100 Adjustables for 125 bucks per. I was amazed at how easy the install was, even without a spring compressor. The tallest setting put me at 3" taller with stock tires and stock springs. I expect it to settle a bit after a few trips to the waffle house.
For the rear, I went with Torch Add A Leaf I got on Amazon for 60 bucks. It would've been an easy breezy install, however there wasn't a lack of blood sweat and tears using the C Clamps I got from Harbor Freight and Irwin wood clamps. Both c clamps are now unserviceable and in the trash can lol I will definitely be renting a ball joint remover for future installs :annoyed:I'll also be upgrading rear shocks next payday. The leaf set gave me exactly 2 inches of lift on both sides.
Once complete, I went for a 10-mile joy ride and as expected I could feel it was a bit stiffer feeling a few bumps I haven't felt before, mainly in the back end, but it wasn't terrible and my wife couldn't tell the difference. I could also feel a little vibration, only at 10 mph. Only at 10 though, I ran it up to 60 mph and it went away. It felt like the knobs on the tires vibrating and not the drivetrain. I could only feel it in the steering wheel, I assume when I get my alignment the vibration will disappear :D
All in all, I'm stoked with the new stance and ride height, and even more pumped that I made it happen for around 300 bones. With only my 4 year old son retrieving tools and telling stories the total time was around 6 hours, but if I had better clamps I could've completed front and rear in 2 hours without a doubt. My Toyo's are at 90 percent tread so I'm not going to go too crazy with rims and tires just yet unless I can come across a deal I can't turn down.
Shout out to tacomaworld family for all your advice and lessons learned to help make this happen. This site is so organized and well kept and I could spend hours reading old posts and generating new ideas for future mods!!upload_2021-3-6_2-36-1.jpg

get your alignment asap, or you may be looking for tires sooner than you think. congrats on the self install. it is liberating, not to fork out that coin to someone else. Ski
