    What year is that Jeep?

I had a 1974 CJ5 I bought from the original owner and cut it in half, stretched it a foot and put a Chevrolet 350 with an SM465 4 speed, NP205 transfer case and full width 3/4 ton axles under it, I miss it but it was useless because after I stretched it I couldn't put a top on it. I should have made a top and kept it. I cut it through the doors and added the foot there :D

Around here bad steering on a cj means the frame is so rotted the steering box is floating!

I think the one pictured is a '82 and the parts one is a '79.
I bet that Jeep was a fun toy! Looks nice man. And yeah with your fabrication skills you could have easily made a top for it. Doors too!

I need to get some pictures of the mechanics Jeep across the street, he took two old CJ’s and married the bodies together. He’s making it a four door and has a 12V Cummins in it. He’s got a good start on it but has a long way to go.

That's a possibility too, but I was going to look at that closely, the frame I mean. He said the frame was decent, I never actually went and looked at it though. He's a great mechanic and used to be a certified GM mechanic (schooling for it).

Tomorrow I'm going up to my cousin's place and help him finish the motorcycle (basically just get it off where it's hanging and he needed a smaller torque wrench) then Sunday he said he'd come down and help me install the winch.

I've got X for sale, what will you give me?
    How much do you want?
    Dunno
    I'll give you a dollar.
    $&^##^*!!
Ok, you drive a hard bargain. I'll double my offer.

If you have an X for sale, state a price. Otherwise you are just fishing for numbers because you don't know what you have. :angrygirl:

This guy and I do a lot of trading out of work. I’ve bought two tractors from him over the last few years. He knows I’m a bottom feeder :D

I hope your luck is better then mine mechanical things I lose money .

Horses overall I made a slight profit when it was all done.

The real money was in horse women and not unplugging electric cords for some reason unhooking horse trailers.

Will be interesting to see if the “ever since ya” syndrome rears it’s ugly head.
They can give that to the young kinds to do and suffer after..

What is this "profit" you speak of ??

I have the "buy" and "work on" parts down good -- not familiar with profit... :notsure:

I understand, most of the time it’s a break even, lose money, or trade it for something of less value

I buy things and end up putting too much in them -- too concerned with having things done right. :ballchain:

Add in the fact that I'm a crappy negotiator -- yeah, me and profit are not well acquainted.:frusty:

Lately when I go to buy bigger dollar stuff I take my buddy along -- this guy could sell a Frigidaire to an Eskimo and get him to take the service contract too! ;)
