Hey fellas, I was poking around the AZ threads wasn't sure where to ask my question but figured I'd try here.

Anyway, I'm planning a camping trip late April and one of the routes being Mogollon Rim (east to west) but during my research I found that FS300 among many other roads are seasonally closed until 4/16 or until rescinded. What is the chance that order will get extended beyond 4/16 (we'll be there around the 20th)? What has the snow pack been like recently, will it clear up enough by the 20th or will it just make for wet and sloppy camping?

Any suggestions for dispersed camping spots or hiking? Thanks!

    Hey Tacoma

Snow pack is still hanging around on the rim, so long as we don't get a bunch more the rim should open up and not get extended.

As far as stuff to see and do, I'd generally avoid traversing the 300 in its entirety, I mean, its definitely cool to see once, but I can provide you a route that will keep you off the traffic of the 300 mostly, and you'll see ALOT of history, but still pop you out on the 300 for a few miles so you can see it.

Agreed...unless you like near misses with SxS, Subarus, and minivans, avoid FS300 like the plague!

For sure that's good to know I'll keep an eye on the weather. Understandable, we're coming from NM so we were planning on heading south from Holbrook to hwy260 then off to Prescott after so totally open to any route suggestions in between.

Ha ya seems like you can't enjoy anything anymore without having to dodge those groups, especially the sxs...

It should be open no problem. Snow has been very light up here this year. Still some on the ground over there but we are looking at higher temps over the next few weeks. Supposedly some light snow in the forecast tonight but Dont expect much. You should be fine. I was up at greenspeak last night and they had one road closed but the roads were just muddy. Higher up on the backside there were only snow mobilke tracks. But thats almost 2k more feet in elevation.

HURF that fuckin sucked the biggest, dirtiest bag of dicks that ever did suck a dirty ass bag of dicks.

Procedure went well, no complications and the doctor who operated was pleased with my recovery but they hit me with fentanyl and propofol and some other shit I forget the name of.
"Oh you'll forget all about the procedure"
    Ahahahaaaaaa no NO NO. NOPE
It doesn't hurt, but you can feel the needle rummaging around in your guts, that's all I'll say for the squeamish.:bananadead:

And then coming down off the sedation and stress was hellish. I spent part of the night laying in the shower curled up in the fetal position trying to keep the nothing in my stomach from becoming nothing on the shower floor. :puke:
Cold sweats, tingling arms, and a headache that was so brutal I couldn't even function.

But, it's over now, and the results are... shitty but not the worst possible. Class 4 nephritis which means it's spread through the whole ungrateful little son of a bitch kidney.:itllbuffout:
I am still improving with the treatment though, and the new doc is night and day better about explaining what he wants for me and why.

Hey wait a second those look familiar...

Are they by chance coming to SSC? :)

Sure are. They loved em. Be on the lookout for our shop spotlight article too. We sent over the finished video I put together and that's getting linked and sent out as well.

I took a bunch of video and photos for our website.

Forgot to mention this, but a couple weeks ago got the Taco paid off about 19 months early. I think I paid off about 50% of the loan amount in just the past 12ish months--I know I paid about $16k from Februaryish to mid-December and I killed over 2k this January and first week of February. Killed off all my student loans back in 2019 so I'm 100% consumer debt free. The only time I have a credit card balance is when I buy something for work and get it reimbursed the next pay period.

The house is also up nearly $100k in equity in the past three years, that will go into the next house which will be a big upgrade (looking at about double the budget). With wifey finishing off over $200k in student loans a couple weeks ago, we are sitting pretty.

Now I get to build up a fun car fund. I'm thinking something American, loud, with a V8.

I started taking the whole budgeting thing a bit more seriously recently too, rather than just playing it by ear every month with “math in my head.” Turns out I was actually doing a pretty good job of it to begin with but I got a bit more serious about managing spending and plotting out a budget. If I reorganize a few things here and there, sell some stuff, and hit my savings goals I can have the Lexus paid off in half the time (!!) and actually get a T4R of the exact fully loaded spec I want when Toyotathon rolls around in the fall.

What's Lake Havasu like in March? In theory I am going through on Tuesday and Wednesday 23/24 Mar. I realized after I planned all this, it's spring break........ I wouldn't spend a lot of time there but if it's shenanigans just going, then I'll skip it this time around.

Spring break for havasu schools or? I know ASU and NAU both do not have a spring break this year. A lot of phoenix area schools have spring break this coming week and the week after. I know doesn't answer your question but thought info would be helpful.

Lake Havasu is a college spring break stop. I don't know if that'll be the case this year or not. My gut says 50% capacity. :)

cheers - fortunately I’m going through mid day so I think I’ll probably try to make it a quick stop somewhere. Maybe shotgun a bud light and be on my way. :puke:
