Well said, WiscoPat. Clear and to the point. I read a huge article from a design engineer and realized the downside of LEDs in Tacoma headlight housing. You are absolutely right in everything you said.

My SL1s are far superior to my halogens. I even tried the ge mega 130. My DD SL1s are awesome, never get flashed by other drivers and on our back country roads the distance I see both in distance and sides of the roads out perform. I'm happy with them, makes driving safer for me. I get all those test and reviews but seeing is believing.

Well it doesn't make sense what you say, to me, at least. If you look at the LED bulb, you can see there are small bulbs on each side of the LED pin. So if the small bulbs are on the side, then they are not emitting light 360 degrees upwards like a clear round halogen bulb. The Tacoma light housing has a reflector at the top of the housing that is angled to capture upward light emitting and reflect it forward down the road. LEDs cannot directly emit light upwards, so the forward projection of LED light just does not seem to be as efficient. But hey, you see what you see and you're happy, so ...

I don't make them, lol I just use them. Like I said to me they light up the road so much better than the stock and ge mega 30 all day long. It throws the light wider and further. I have even been in another car and had someone drive my truck on the back roads where I live and I didn't any issues. LEDs have co.e a long way over the past few years, with DD as one of the best out there.
