Yeah one dealer slapped on $800 for tint when I was shopping around....yeah no thanks bud. I asked him if it would reflect the sun back at itself causing a disturbance in the space-time continuum. He hung up lol, stupid what dealers charge for "upgrades.'

Truth. The dealer where I ordered mine from had 6 Cement trucks coming in...all were pre-sold.

Just be willing to drive out of that big city market. Even a long drive doesn't cost as much as you'll save. Start with some links from places in your acceptable driving range, and send them to your preferred dealer's online sales team. Hopefully they will play ball and match it. If not, take a road trip on a day off and get the truck you want for reasonable price.

Yeah, it’s some sort of spray. I declined and will roll the dice on the environment.

So, final story here for those following, I managed to pay MSRP less 500 after getting in touch with the general manager. I still had to pay the $399 for window tint, which looks OK and was already on the vehicle. Not ideal and I did my best to even get another $500 off but the situation now is that the dealer knows they can sell at sticker to the next guy tomorrow.

Thanks to everyone for the input and I’m looking forward to getting in to the rest of this forum!

Nicely done! But honestly if you wait until the end of the month you may get a much better deal. Especially at high volume dealers. Some will sell a vehicle at a loss if it means they hit a certain metric for that month, as they get compensation from Toyota for hitting those margins. Food for thought...crazy to see how things have become since buying mine a month ago. Ppl then were consistently getting at least 5% off, with 8-10% relatively common.

Even now a high volume dealer near me is starting the online prices out below MSRP... geography is a huge factor it seems

Congratulations. Enjoy the truck and don't let anyone make you think you paid too much. The market is what it is. When you have specific desires, you lose alot of your leverage on a highly desirable truck

This, hope you (snelson) don't take what I said above as a dig. Things just seem tough right now for everyone... regardless of what you pay they hold their value extremely well and is why you are seeing the going prices so rigid right now.

This doesn't hold much weight with Tacomas these days though, maybe in areas where they aren't as popular. Toyota dealers don't have to sell them at too much of a loss anymore or any loss to hit numbers, since they are consistently selling there probably isn't much backend money for dealers to make on them compared to corollas/camrys/what have you. The end of the month trick is because they are trying to hit a sales number to receive a bonus from Toyota which would make up for any losses they take on the actual sale of vehicles, I'm not in the industry anymore so I can't be too certain but since Toyota can't even meet demand in a lot of places with Tacomas, I doubt they're putting out dealer bonuses on them.

Good point.... hopefully things makes turn for the better soon for the consumers.

Still, anyone around TX/OK/KS or any adjacent states should consider a drive if they can't find a good deal near them. Just checked local inventory and TRD OR are marked anywhere from 1k-2.5k off MSRP. However I get opportunity cost is a thing many people weigh differently. Good luck to all!

Lol, $1700 for that. That’s one of the worst ones I’ve heard. They don’t even bother to say what it actually is because it’s not real!
It’s a solar power spray which powers the hybrid electric motors which is good for the environment.

Just bought a 2021 trd sport 4x4 last weekend in NC. Through South East toyota had a eibach pro lift on it with bfg ko2s and the tech package sticker price was 43 talked down to 40 then wouldn't get my payments where I wanted them so we about walked out and as soon as we got to the door they came back with a price of 38500 OTD, sales guy said they wouldn't have made that deal if it wasn't the end of the month

So what was the price before taxes and fees?
How much did they charge you for the lift? looks like you got some serious rake going on.

What is the MSRP listed on the window sticker?
