Yep I've started looking at ways to strip more weight yet again.
Yeah the hp per dollar isn't really there.

The guys in the HPTuners thread are getting way more than that. It’s not too difficult to put in different cams and supercharger, a decent exhaust for the setup and custom tune and you’ll be at around 400hp. Loose the back seats, tow hitch and all that other unnecessary crap and you’ll be close to the 10:1 ratio.

It does get expensive though, and speaking of power to weight ratios, all roads lead to LS swap

Fully loaded for a pre-landing trip I'm around 6200#, including armor, tent, 4 days of food and water. I'm making some extra HP from long tube headers and intake mods, and desperately need gears to make up for the lack of power.

Still not 1:10, although that power / weight ratio does sound like a shitload of fun. Possibly too much fun for a truck without a full cage though.

400hp at the crank, after the power goes through a slush box, locked diff and 37’s you would be lucky to put 225 to the wheels

600 hp to the wheels is terrifying, even in a 6000# 4wd truck.

Let's say I was going to drop the coin for the LS, and driveline to handle it, what do I need for safety?

Pretty easy to stack on top of that. I should be around 300whp now. Still not 400 that’s hard without going all in and stroking it but you can get some good power.

I’m hoping to try it on my long bed after the front is done. It should work, it would just put the mount about a foot back from the front wall of the bed. I guessed it would be in the downward slope of the front of the wheel Wells on the long beds.

Def on 37’s it will kill big time. Could get better than that def feel it. When I went 35’s and thr S/C I felt my truck was faster before (minus my swing out I have now)

If you're will to do a bit of fitting it should work, but the frame is a bit different from the shortbed.

In the spot where JD mounts their tower, it looks almost identical. The bed isn’t however. The notched out area would not be the same.
Without measuring I couldn’t be sure.

Maybe I should turn Harry loose on testing it on my long bed.

Seeing @Evenflow and his 3 link again also got me undecided on what I want to do with the truck haha

Is it mostly the fronts or a combination of the front and rear bypasses that’s making it unbearable? Wouldn’t think there would be too clicking on daily driving roads?

When the cage ties everything together it is quite noisy. I don’t feel bypass clicks are too too bad even with a cage, but I only have rear 3tube. Rode in a buddies last summer with 3 tube up front and 5 tube out back with front to rear cage. His was 100x worse than mine as far as bypass clicks. That said, his rode 10x better than mine and as not a daily driver it is 1000% worth it for the off road performance

Is anyone interested in a set of total chaos spec front bypass shocks (tc1119-34)? I have a set I'm thinking of letting go and figured there are a bunch of people here that have kits ordered but won't have shocks for 8 months.

The rears are worse than the fronts and they are awful on the street, if you don’t believe me I can call you on speaker phone tomorrow when I’m driving... it’s actually almost funny how obnoxious the shocks are
