Cut up the box?
Put a spacer under the box?

 

Err it is setup to pull under the box. I thought the winch line was going to rub on the box and was questioning my sanity in getting this far. But the line is spooled to pull under the drum so it's gonna be alright.

I think you did good. Sounds like you're working with a 110v welder so that's the safe way to do heavy shit.

 

Is have to replace the wood, atleast I think it’s wood, I dunno what’s up with the covered wagon bars

 

Fairlead will be on the front of the box to guide the line away from the box and the trailer frame

Yeah, I did a bunch of reading and switched to .024 wire like you suggested, it definitely helped. Gets into the root of the weld much more reliably than when I was using .030.


Also, this has been going thru my head all week.

 

24 wire is your best all purpose wire unless you're into a bigger machine

 

Good thing I just bought a new roll of .030 a couple weeks ago. . It's what I had been using for everything, so I'm sure it'll get used.

 

Dunno if its just the pic or not, but it almost looks like your rear end is slightly lower than the front.

 

I primary use 030 but I also seem to be welding a lot of 3/16"+ lately

Yeah that makes a lot of sense, especially with a bigger welder. Much faster.
