I searched the forum, but could not find too much regarding the OV tune. Just wanted to know if anyone on here has OV tune’d there 3rd gen Tacoma’s themselves. What was the process, time it took, any issues you ran into, and also if you need to do to your Tacoma prior to the OV tune. Thanks in advance!

You didn’t look very hard. 4 threads on the first page. One of them is a sticky.

Just looked around, and there’s talks of regearing... does ov tune mean you have to get your taco regeared? I’ll just look through all the threads. Thanks guys.

    No!

Some folks give up the idea of regearing with the tune.

The tune has options if you do regear.

Regearing is typically used when folks ruin the effective final gear ratio by going to much taller tires. Or the truck is bloated with weight or used in heavy towing.

Of course it can be used independent of that to add more low end driveability.
