Whoa. That's damn impressive my dude. Do you guys know how to bend tube? If you do, what would you charge me to tube the front end of the truck? Like a partial engine cage almost (I think that's how you would label it). Most importantly, what's the turnaround time for some work like that if you did it for me?

Read the thread below on HPTuner as authored by JustDSM.

Thanks to all for your advice! There has been some miscommunication between myself and the s/c seller. Enough that it has caused me to rethink my strategy. I've cancelled the order. I'm going to need to find the appropriate tune and pick your brains for any potential problems (pulley tensioner, coolant leak, etc) and bring in all those parts with the S/C and clutch. I'd rather cancel now, get my poop in a group and do it right the first time, then be unsure of what I'm getting into and mess it up. Needed to take a set back. I'll be reading this thread and asking questions. Thanks for the welcome and all the support!!!!

Just get a second ECU from @JustDSM. That would be my recommendation and just get it installed with the sc and clutch. Not much more to it as that would be the simplest way

Obtaining a second ECU is always a good move in our situation actually because of the way HP Tuners operates. Not to mention having a back up of our parts is always a good insurance policy anyways as it eliminates down time.

Yep that’s what I did. Although my stock one has the TRD tune in it and not the N/A

Yes, we bent all the tube. Cousin got a dimple die right before that build. He was super excited to use it if you couldn't tell lol. As far as extra work, I'll ask. He's deep in a land cruiser build right now, and because of that, my truck is on a back burner.

Good idea on getting out before getting stuck with money into a Bully Tune.

    Yep.

This is my plan. Keep the original ECU with the TRD Tune from Toyota and use the other one to play with.

I couldn't tell… Actually, that was my first thought when I saw the photo. It seems to happen to everyone that gets a set of dimple dies.

Thanks! I will contact @JustDSM and see what he says. Will this be easier than HPTuners? I live in Canada, so there will be a lot of shipping back and forth. Does DSM provide the ECU from his end with the tune and you buy it all together?

    Cheers!

Hptuners is what he uses to tune the second ecu. And about getting a second ecu you’re gonna have to talk to him. Hptuners is the software to tune these and JustDSM is the tuner

I can flash your current ECU if you want to minimize costs and can deal with a little down-time.

Otherwise I can supply you a pretuned ECU.

Send me a PM and I’ll work out the details with you. Be sure to give me the specifics (year/trans) of your truck and I’ll get you accurate costs.

Definitely get a 2nd ECU for insurance. I bricked an ECU having a loose pin connection while writing a tune. Not Hptuners fault by any means but I would have been up :crapstorm: creek without a paddle if not for this forum and the help of the pros in this group

You can either check in your glove box and see your ecu PN or just get that one if ok’d by the man. There are ways to make any ecu work. I think they’re cheaper on eBay though.

So I had my brother pick up my truck for me.
The first thing he texted me was “ I thought your truck would be faster, lol”
I’ve felt the same since installing it.
I have a cold air intake, upgraded alum radiator, 2.8 urd pulley, upgraded fuel pump. Got my tune from JustDSM also...
What’s next to get the most out of my s/c?

    loose some truck weight.
    headers
    Equal length y-pipe
    Smaller pulley
    Cam gears or kelford cams
    Stroker kit

Still more $$ and less power than a built LS.
