I actually had a similar issue with a blue LED Ford oval hitch light on my previous truck. As soon as I realized it was illegal, I replaced the blue LED with a red one and was compliant again. I’ve actually been trying to figure out how I can install a front bumper hidden light bar and stay legal, but can’t seem to figure that one out. Pennsylvania requires auxiliary (off road) lights to be covered when on public roadways. If only I could find a light bar with a motorized cover. I thought about trying to make a motorized cover for one even, but that sounds like it may be more headache than it’s worth.

Thats a easy fix. Go get some HDPE sheet or black plexi, cut it to the size of the grill infront of you light bar, then just get some clips that secure it to the ribbing of the grill or Instead of clips, you can make spring loaded cam locks to hold it on.

My garage is almost as tight but the wife's crosstrek isn't as big. Backing the truck in so both driver doors are in the middle helps a lot though, as long as your passenger gets out before parking

I actually like the spring loaded cam lock idea. Thank you for that.

And looks like I can get it in aluminum for about the same price as the body armor one too. MN is not kind to aftermarket bumpers, skid plates and bed racks... even powder coated ones rust up pretty fast.

Looks like it was a day for molle panels! Actually bought these for Black Friday last year and just got around to mounting them as they don’t fit quite as well as I’d like since they are multi gen (but I was told they’d fit 3rd gen no problem ), and the hardware that came with it didn’t end up being the right size. Might try to color match better when I get a chance to see what Home Depot has....

Started the License plate light Disable while In Reverse. https://tinyurl.com/ycxj2m7m Fellow came by to buy my DD commuter. Fellow checks car while I undo DIR package. Fellow goes for a spin. I manage to undo light and attach 2 parts of harness. Fellow comes back. We dicker and do paperwork. 90 minutes have passed since I started the DIR project. Fellow leaves, I register sale online, and head downstairs to garage. I back the truck into the garage to work below with some light as the sun has now set. Honey, supper's ready. Birthday supper for youngest, she's 17 today. I took 1033 photos earlier today of her and her fellow players at a volleyball game. Get to sort those later. Anyway, supper with the family, gifts, and time to head back out to the garage. It's now 5 hours after I started. I finish install and clean up.

Next I completed my new tool roll. The back of tools I'd brought from my 1968 Chev had no metric, no ratchets, no sockets, not much of anything useful on the Toyota. (Need a coil anyone?) So, went to @turbobod 's gear roundup and followed his recommendation. https://tinyurl.com/yac9yqqx

It begins to rain. I check my Scepter Water can for my new wrench. Oops, bought the MFC wrench for the jerry jug, not the water wrench. Honey, are you ready to put the cars back in? No, I mean, yes.

Cars in, things locked up. I come in at 9 pm. It took 6 hours for 2 projects that take 20-30 minutes to assemble, install, and test. But right now, lava cake awaits me. (Oh, it was good!)

Ditch lights await me on the morrow.

Can’t say how well they would hold up to automated washes but lint loves to stick to it. What about these?

If anyone has a retrax tonneau cover, would you mind showing me where you put your drain tubes? I have a feeling I’m going to have to drill out the holes near the cab to fit the tubes and not sure if there’s a better option available or if that’s something that I shouldn’t do.

All I had to do was an oil change before a long trip tomorrow. Had to drop the skid plates first. Then wile I was still under, I put a one gallon bottle under the fumoto valve with a short tube attached. It was draining slow, so I went to look for my filters. Not where I left them... Hmm, the hunt begins. But I completely forgot I was currently draining oil. When I finally found the filters, my gallon jug was full and about another quart was pooled in my driveway. FML! Now after midnight I’m finally finished cleaning up.

Found this when searching, seems some people do. Just be careful if you do and seal any raw metal.

EDIT: just saw you are long bed

So, while I don't own these, and don't thi k they're the bees knees or anything like that, I am involved in industrial design, and manufacturing. While it really looks like a simple part, there are actually a significant amount of machine processes going on there. I know first hand, Cnc machining is not affordable within the states. Especially for smaller production runs needed by the smaller businesses. Not to mention that aluminum isn't affordable here either, and tooling consumption if machining steel doesn't make that very desirable either.

So while the price might not float your boat, it's pretty shitty to express an opinion in a way which seemingly devalues a product.
