    ^

Yeah, pushing the fender clips from the engine bay out instead of pulling the fender flairs out like hulk was a a good note. No broken clips.

also make sure the high beam and low beam are correct ones to the harness.

Looking for help in obtaining Mike’s email regarding the wiring harness. Looked through the 83 pages and no luck. Appears his profile was taken off. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Why’d you decide to pull off the entire bumper instead of just peeling back to get that 10mm bolt on the side? Just curious for my future install

Hi guys, I went to unplug my stock headlights and there are 5 plugs, but the new harness is 4 plugs. I used 4 plugs from the new harness to the 4 from the Tacoma leaving out one of the plugs. DRL and turn signal works. No low or high beams

I got the harness from headlight revolution

    thanks for any help

I pulled my entire bumper as well. Partly because it was fun, partly to get a really good feel for what was going on, partly just because. In retrospect, it was a completely unnecessary waste of time.

The harness will tap DRL, Turn, High and Low, leaving the sidemarker alone as it's a redundant parking light feed which the DRL already has. Mike's harness includes a cap for the sidemarker so it retains it's watertight seal. I'm not sure what the HR harness has.

More than one person has stated that the HR harness has the leads for + and - swapped in the low beam connector. That may be the source of your trouble. I believe Toyota pins them backwards from the high beam and I have tried to figure out how that would help but I'm not sure I understand it. Halogen bulbs do not care about polarity but LED of course does. The good news is that it's relatively easy to de-pin the male H9/H11 connector with a small screwdriver and swap them around.

    Hi Dave,

I have issues with the common plugs (low and high). The other two are easier because only one type of plug will connect to them.

One of the common plug has black and blue wires, the other is black and yellow. If I connect them one way I only get high beams, if I connect them another way I only get low beams. I can’t seem to figure it out. I can’t even attach a photo to show what I’m saying, lol. I don’t have a url or whatever that is. I am common folk so to speak.

So if you start with the driver side, OEM harness has red wire for low beam H11 connector which is the green one. Then a white with black is the ground. The high beam is a solid white for positive and another white with black for ground using a yellow-ish / beige-ish connector.

I haven't ever held a HR harness in my hand so I don't know if they used H9 connectors for both but I'd need photos to help you more. Or someone who has that harness can maybe tell you exactly what they did.

One way to go may be to connect only the green OEM connector and leave the high beam connector disconnected, turn on your low beams, plug in one of the male sockets and observe what is lit on the headlight. low beam emitters are on the outside, high beam emitter is on the inside. You should likely be able to tell by the direction of the light as well now that it's dark, assuming you're somewhere in the US.

I followed the first paragraph and the low beams work. When I connect the high beam connector there is no high beam.

the outer sides light up but not the inner light

is there a high beam fuse in the engine fuse box? Maybe it’s blown
