Got some nice turns at Stowe this weekend. A couple inches each day kept the groomers nice but the trees were shit. Some spots with drifts up to the knee and other spots totally bare and bullet proof ice. Classic conditions lol.

Ya- I was feeling depressed Wednesday. We have so much snow. Wednesday was 60 and I’m thinking it may have been the last perfect day.

Ok, we’re not done. At least I’m not yet...how’s the snowpack and quality around Greylock, Brodie? @DrFunker ? @Bridge4 ?I’m guessing it’ll be dust on crust until the next storm...
Anyone near Merck Forest or Manchester VT? ADK high peaks?
@BadDNA ? What’s it looking like in the NEK? Not that I’m allowed up there yet...

western ma is crust on crust. soon to be slush on crust. central adk just went through the same thaw-freeze. in the trees is complete shit. basically it's groomers for a while.

Last week - was very hard pack up high, very crusty down low.
Ice is forming on anything that has been highly traveled.
Best to go deeper and higher and wait for temps above freezing.
Greylock, up high, probably has a shit ton of snow. I have been hip deep in mid-April up there before. And this was a year like that.
Thinking Brodie is probably a touch better than my above report. Bet there are pockets on the sides.

Plattakill on Monday: Pouring rain until about 11am. Got two runs of slush then HEAVY winds and freezing temps. By 2 it was rock hard ice and by 4 o’clock it was snowing. Odd day to say the least.
But hey, I’ve skied big March storms in the past.... ya never know.

Lake Placid got 4"-6" of powder Monday night and Whiteface is claiming another 3"-6" last night. I skied a defunct ski area to the east of the High Peaks this morning. We got less snow here, but there was still a couple of inches of powder over an icy base. Ungroomed stuff might be a little rough right now.

Love a set of slalom skis for some hard core tight turning. But after 3 runs or so, I'm done. Dont like that much turning. Love me some GS skis though!

gotta mix it up!! They were my first two days in them this year. They are so much fun! I usually have 2-3 pair in the truck and swap throughout the day! Missing a few in this pic while I was testing out the new rack
