And another restaurant makes my shitlist...



This time, it’s Eagle Diner on Street Road in Warminster, PA; I’ve picked up one other order there since I started doing DoorDash again and found the staff to be incredibly friendly that time...

Take a look at this screenshot and you’ll see proof that I arrived more than 20 minutes before the pickup time (this was taken after I walked out of the diner with the order)...

 

The order was ready, but I figured I had plenty of time considering when the app was telling me to pick up the order; Eagle Diner is one of those rare places that still has a public restroom, and I had to take a leak. When I said I had to use the bathroom, the manager/chef/whatever was pretty pissed and started going off about how the customer had been waiting. Initially, he seemed to be pointing at the man standing at the counter and I was understandably confused...

I only had to go number one, so I could not see what the problem was; I went to the bathroom and was out in less than two minutes! I walked up to the employee who’s accosted me and asked what I’d done wrong; He was worried that the food was going to get cold, which is understandable, but I got there when so was supposed to. He then told me he didn’t want to talk about it, and I told him I’d be giving him low ratings for being a jerk.

 

I had just dropped off another order and was about fifteen minutes from Eagle Diner whenI got the notification; I drove there as fast as I could safely...

*One ticket in a weekend is enough!

I got to the diner at a little after 11am; The order was for like $8, so it’s not it was low and I don’t think any other Dashers in the area would have turned that down.

I have no idea why this guy had his panties in such a bunch, but my guess would be that because I was the closest available Dasher I took longer than he would have liked. One thing that gets my nerves is the ineptitude of merchants when it comes to how DoorDash works.

They don’t seem to realize that we’re not miracle workers who can immediately show up when called!

 

What’s weird is that when I marked the order as picked up on the app 11:08, there was a “deliver by” time of 11:10 when the customer’s house was close to ten minutes away...

Keep in mind that was after it said “pick up by 11:27”. Thinking that the customer had called and complained, I called him to apologize for the food being late; He basically said he was happy as long as I was on my way. I ended up chatting with the customer and he was very nice, so I don’t know what the deal was with the guy at the diner...

 

As long as the customer was happy l don't see what the problem was, you arrived for pick up 20 minutes before the deadline.

 

There’s a lot of animosity towards Dashers on the part of restaurant owners; They should be pissed at DoorDash for their business practices, not us!

 

Yeah l don't understand the anger.

 

Right now, a good chunk of it is COVID-related, but form day one the restaurant owners have been pissed about sharing a chunk of the profits with DoorDash...

 

You are providing a service that is helping them stay in business though.

 

Most of them are nice, but I’ve had an owner bitch at me for “taking business from his delivery drivers”...

No, I’m not kidding!

Would anybody care to explain why the Chick-Fil-A on 611 in Warrington is not only the the only one that lets people use the bathrooms, but also the only one that lets people inside PERIOD?

This is what I’m dealing with at the Horsham location; Luckily it’s nice out!

 

So do you want me to hand it to you or leave it at your door...?

 

So you expect me to spout out this ID number instead of the customer’s relatively short name...?

This was the scene at the home of one of last night’s DoorDash customers (taken with her permission); Apparently their snowplow guy pushed the snow up really far and they exacerbated things with a snowblower...




They’re still unable to use the front door!
