I am trying to lift my 2011 ACLB with a Leer cap to about 2"-2.5". I am starting off with 265/75 R16 tires once I put the lift on. Currently the truck is on 265/70 R16s. I would love to put on 285s, but my daily commute is too long and expensive as it is. My original plan was to get billies wrapped around 884 coils (2" expected) up front and an AAL in the rear. After talking and showing my truck to many people who work in the off-road and vehicle modification world, they all suggested I get new rear leafs because of the wear I had already put on my stock leafs. However, without having Toyota knowledge, they didnt know what leafs to get. The truck currently sits with a Leer cap of around 200 lbs and I have a consistent load of 250-280lbs in the bed with cap at all times. OME claims the truck will gain 2.75" with medium leafs in stock form. I dont want the HD leafs as rarely (maybe once a year) will I have more then 350 lbs total in my bed. I am trying to get an idea of what sag will I incur in the rear to possibly change my front suspension. For example: If the truck will sag .25" from the expected 2.75, then I will change my front coil over selection to 885 coils (expected 2.5" expected front lift) to keep it between stock rake and slightly level. But, if the expected sag is closer to .75", then I will stick to 884 coils for an all around 2" lift. Any help or even pictures if this is what you have done would be greatly appreciated. Lifting a vehicle can be very expensive, and I would like to make sure I do it right the first time.

I would honestly not recommend ome leafs. I have the HD dakars, and while they work wonderfully I am going mad from all the squeaking. That being said, I have a heavy extended rise canopy, bed drawers and a whole lot of tools/ camping crap in my bed. I have about 2.5" of lift in the rear on my little regular cab with all the weight, so they do perform well.

OME just released a new (3rd) iteration of leaf springs for these trucks, so maybe they fixed it? The second (ones I have) were supposed to not squeak, but here we are. Some report their dakars do not squeak at all. Some have solved the issue with greasable bolts/ drilling and installing grease zerks on the bushings.

Dobinson makes some too that I've heard good things about, and then there are always deavers but they are a little more expensive.

I would recommend Dobinsons or Deaver or Alcan.

OME has been a disappointment for many 2nd gen owners. Often it takes only weeks before they start sagging and form a W shape.

They were great on my 1st gen... other than squeaking.

My plan is to get either Dobinsons or Deaver once I figure out my "final" weight with my camper and load of a fully packed trip.

Thanks everyone!. I looked into all of your advise. Some options are well outside of my budget, but looking into the IronMan Rear leafs and it would actually drop my total cost by a little over $100. I would have to hodge podge the rest of the parts together instead of buying a single 1 click kit, but if the Iron Mans are a true 2" lift and good for 400lbs over stock weight with significantly less squeak, these sound perfect in every way. As always, the people of TacomaWorld ROCK! Thank you all!!

After I sent my last message and the PM to you (2013XSPS) I was playing around more on the Iron Man website to find out that this company does sell full kits. Probably the way I will go as it does make life easier buying 1 kit from one company opposed to hodge podging the lift parts together. Thanks again!

I'm actually ok with sag, I was originally just trying to get an idea of how much sag I should expect. Then adjust the font coils around to match the expected rear sag. With that said, I believe I will be moving over to something from IronMan as their leafs expect to have the weight I am carrying @ the ride height I originally wanted (+2").

These are the old CS047R leaf packs (equal to the current heavy) with the OME D29XL aal. They sagged a bit and then are negative arch or “W” as seen in the pictures after only 2 years. The truck only has about half the weight in the back that it does during camping season. Not impressed and will be switching to the Deaver Expedition stage 3 pack for this year.
