To really honor @Burica, you should pass him on a gravel road and laugh maniacally as you spray him with rocks.

May have overreacted. Maybe he meant this Raptor:

Looking for opinions on towing. I don’t have a brake controller installed but just ordered one on Amazon. I have to rent a mini excavator to dig up my yard and re-plumb my entire house (plumbers wanted $20k). My question is, they have two options available, a 1 ton machine that with trailer weighs 3,500lbs, or a 1.5-2 ton machine that with trailer weighs 6,830 lbs. I know our Max trailer capacity is around 6,800, however I also have 34” tires and have not regeared so I’ve obviously lost some power/torque. I would rather get the larger machine if possible, and I think it could tow it (might take a minute to get up to speed) but wouldn’t mind getting some input.

I will add that I have towed around 4,000-5,000 lbs before, but that was with 33’s, not 34’s. I’m not trailer expert, so I don’t know what a difference of that amount of weight equates to in the trucks performance (or lack there of).

like @Rock Lobster said, rent a truck and get the bigger machine. You could rent a truck from Home Depot or Uhaul for the day.

I would agree as well, however I am currently unemployed, so I’m attempting to do it as cheaply as possible. Our soil here isn’t hard to dig, merely too much to do by shovel.

My dads friend has a 3/4 ton dodge that I hope will be towing the machine. Mine I hope is a backup. I appreciate everyone’s input for sure, definitely things to consider.

My wife took the pic while I was driving her truck pulling our camper to Camping World to trade it in.

lifted, wheels, tires and “viper cut”.

What exactly is a “viper cut”?

Cutting the bumper along the bends to “offer clearance” that actually has no real benefit. A trend someone started a few years ago. It makes your truck look extra stupid, too

I saw a thread on here once, had the worst bumper cut I’ve ever seen. How the dude wasn’t ashamed, much less made a “tutorial” on how to do it is beyond me.

@Burica would be proud, I talked to him at the stoplight. $1700 for this model over full tube for $2200, rugged pods.
