    the googles are correct. Rainbow are landlocked, steelheads are rainbows that visit the pacific. Both are tastey!

    yeah so I hear. never had it before. We dont really have any up here. closest thing we have is burbot which i hear is really good if you catch it through the hard water. not so good in soft water as it gets muddy.

    Correct. All are O. mykiss.

    Basically a steelhead is a rainbow that decided to go out to sea and became anadramous. So, a rainbow trout could deposit eggs, and some of those juvie fish could smolt and go out to sea and become steelhead. That steelhead would return to freshwater, spawn, and all of those juvies could stay inland and be rainbows, or some could smolt and go out to sea. This is for streams connected to the ocean. Landlocked trout stay trout.
