I see this happen a lot. If your getting bashed on and decide not to take it they turn it around like your being the asshole. Some of the stuff they say is absolutely hilarious though. Because you didn’t take it now your doomed to a shit life with no success it cracks me up. I will say that I’m a little confused as to why you posted that. I mean it’s fine I have no problem with your setup or anything but it’s a box with a bungee on it. That’s not exactly a noteworthy invention.

No reason really. Why do people post questions here when they can easily be found in the owners manual? No reason I geuss.

OP.....place this in the FWIW group.

I believe in the 50 US States there is a law that states (paraphrasing). Any load in a pickup truck needs to be secured.

Yes, the bungee cord will absolutely work for everyday run of the mill driving.

Yes, the bungee cord will absolutely fail in the event of an accident. The weight of the box and its inertia will allow the box to keep moving when the truck stops.

Use what you want. I'd suggest something more substantial to firmly attach the box to the bed. This will also make it more difficult for the tools to grow legs. Cap or no Cap. Caps are not very secure.

    Good luck.

when I go off-roading I place it behind a ratcheting bar tucked in a corner with other heavy stuff, it doesn’t slide around. Running around town and around the yard I have it where I can easily just snatch it out and carry where I need to. For everyday puttin around town, it’s fine. I’m not going to the moon and back with it just with the bungee cord.

Statistically......most vehicle accidents occur within 10 miles of home...........

An unsecure heavy box would make a good demolition ball.

You can fill in the empty spots in the bed around the toolbox with 2B gravel. Try not to go over the top of the bed rails as this is overkill. Keep it about and inch below. That out to hold that sucker where ya put it.

Hey, asshat, this 3.5 is just as strong as your 4.0 and it’s more efficient. Even if it’s smaller.

I'd like to have that .5 for my 3.5 any day.

I sarcastically say some thing on the order of “it’s only half a liter” when I get passed by a third GEN.
