I would say definitely exhaust. All that extra airflow needs somewhere to go. I did 3” cat back then headers then ypipe.

Does your brother ride crotch rockets, drive anything north of 400HP, or pilot fighter jets?

If yes, then his answer/opinion isn't inaccurate.

This is no joke. I outran a Dodge Ram a few months ago. I had no bed at the time, long story. Didn’t realize it was an officer until I saw the lights. Wasn’t going over speed limit or breaking laws just got up way quicker than she could catch up to warn me of a wreck ahead (they were coming behind me to close highway). Helped my 0-80 way more than any other mod, lol.

Exhaust. Out of all mods, you failed to make the biggest mod which these trucks are in dire need of, exhaust.

You'd be surprised how much of a restriction the factory piping is upon slapping the supercharger on. You could easily drop anywhere from 3-4 psi just from modding the Y pipe on rearward. If you eliminate all cats (which I would not advise) it's easily 6 psi. Headers are supposed to make a difference also, I wouldn't know and the chances are I never will.

Higher psi is not everything FYI. A truck that makes 6-7 psi at wide open throttle modded makes a crap ton more power vs. a truck that is running 6-7 psi unmodded.

Roberto get the carb approved shorties already. Trust me you will notice the tq curve move much lower. Jba is what I run, thorley sells some also.

I had JBA shorties on my old 4Runner. Had glorified welder do it. I think he might have a jig for them? Forgot. Was many years ago.

Thanks for the info. Exhaust, then headers are in my trucks’s future.
Hopefully, that gets me where I want to be. As of right now, my truck is so slow. I feel like if I punch it, I can take a Kia Soul that didn’t know we were racing the first 5 seconds.
After investing close to $10,000 into the s/c mod. Not gonna do much more past that lol :(

    Yep, it needs to breathe.

Plus, you really need to put that thing on a DIET. A winch, plus skid plates front to back and full steel bumpers is easily going to add another 1000lbs to the truck.

Remember, every 1,000 lbs takes away 1 second off your 1/4 mile et. And since you are easily past that, you literally need like another 100hp just to get back to OE acceleration and speeds. There is only so much these 4.0s can do power wise before weight becomes a factor. Lol.

Well said. I’m considering removing my rock sliders to save the 150+ lbs since I will very rarely need them and would rather be lighter.

I've strongly been considering removing my primary skid plate because that stupid thing weighs 84 lbs by itself and makes a mess whenever I do my oil changes. Plus I don't screw around off-road like I used to because of the condition of the trucks radiator support and the condition of my own health so I don't see a point in having it on.

I’m thinking the same. Who’s to say you can’t put sliders back on before you go wheeling. Shouldn’t be too bad after first install.

I was debating the shorties. Not as good as LT or EL but worth it?

Get a fumoto valve and. I more issues. I have the same skid and easiest and cleanest oil change ever. But I’m also considering a lighter skid and bulletproof as they are I prob don’t need one that beefy

If you have bolt on ( I currently do) I would not want to install those each time.

yah part of me is go that route so its something but easier if I need a smog and need to go somewhere to do it. Right now not an issue but the truck is choking big time. Once its back on the road I need to get the cat back at least done. Picked up some parts but never got around to it.
