I meant is the latency you have an improvement over your cable.

Ah, gotcha. No, the cable is faster but I can't tell a difference in real world applications.

Ish. I can connect no problem using my own router but the Starlink router just does nothing. I let it sit and try for five hours this morning and then went and bought a cheap Linksys, plugged it in and had connection almost instantly, I just have no functionality of the Starlink app.

    Ugg.. That’s too bad.
Interesting to know you can use a third party router with it though. I know yours is new (the Starlink one) but did they give you reset instructions? Bend a paperclip kinda thing? :frusty:

I did some googling and saw folks could open up a ticket with tech support.

I forgot to thank you for posting the speeds you’re getting. Might be close to what you see with your cable service but those speeds will blow the doors off my DSL.

    Good Luck with it all.

It has a paperclip reset on the bottom but it appears to have done nothing. I submitted a help ticket late last night and then updated it today saying I can get online just not with their router. We'll see what happens.

I am plannning to stream the Starlink launch tonight through a Starlink satellite because I'm a nerd.

    Any progress?
    How’s Starlink Tech support?

The neglect on our utilities is criminal IMHO.

    Good Luck!

There are a number of vids on YouTube about Starlink, including one real computer geek who took the receiver out into the "middle of nowhere" about 15 miles from his home. He set up the Starlink, plus a server and some other geek goodies, and found that he got great internet access. The Starlink is supposedly "geo-locked" to the location to where you have it shipped and registered. No idea what radius around that location where it'll still work, though.

Starlink customer support was pretty helpful and straight forward. They had me try a few things, leave their router plugged in for 24hrs and are now sending me a new router and shipping label to return the original.

I moved the dish today from just sitting in the yard to a somewhat makeshift mount out of the way on the fence. It has a good clear view of the sky using the Starlink app but speeds today have been much, much worse. That said, I'm still online using Starlink and uploading these pictures didn't seem to be any slower.
