Maybe it's the donut tires but that lift looks massive. I can understand why you'd have some vibration.

My dad pulled a troll move right before I bought the truck from him and replaced the tires with smaller than stock tires. I'm guessing these are tires sized for 5 lugs. So it's a combination of 883s + a light 2wd truck + smol tires

I'll be getting new tires and wheels eventually but probably after I've used up these Michelins. Despite being small they are nice tires and it'll give me time to save up.

The N91 shocks were the original nitrochargers offered quite some years ago. Sub'd in for the nitrocharger sports.

Super late update! Took my driveshaft out again and had it balanced by a driveline shop here in Sacramento. They replaced my crappy CB with an OEM one, rephased it, and painted it. I slapped it in the night I got it back and no vibrations to speak of.

What a relief! Lots of lessons learned here. If you are still getting vibes after doing a CB drop and adding shims, take the driveshaft to a specialist. This would have saved me hundreds in the long run.

I'm also going to plug Driveline Service Sacramento. They got my driveshaft fixed in just a day. Dropped it off on Saturday, closed Sunday, and picked it up on Monday. Hank even stayed a couple minutes after closing so I could pick it up after work. The part looked great and the price was right.

hey guys, so i’ve read about 50 pages of this thread and can’t find a definite answer on how to get 3 inches of lift with the ome kit, and if they are, there’s too much rake with the dakar springs in the rear. i need three inches to fit some 285/75r16s on my 2000 prerunner V6. if i go with the 881’s up front and the dakar springs in the rear with nitrochargers all around, where will that put me? will i need a 1” spacer up front to put it to 3” total, i know it depends on each individual truck. i guess i’m looking for reassurance before i pull the trigger. also can i pull the third leaf out of the dakar leaf pack to get it sitting a little lower? thanks

Jokes on you, lift means nothing for tire size unless you limit up travel

He got them from Cruiser Outfitters. He lists it in the build thread.

Yeah I'm super close to pulling the trigger on a full OME suspension kit, but it looks like everyone is getting some crazy rake with the Dakars. That's not exactly the look I want.

The Dakar leaf springs will be slightly arched in the rear, but will settle down in time.

It looks like with the nitrocharger shocks, 882 springs (I have a brush guard and a V6), and Dakar leafs I'll be right under 3 inches of lift correct? That sounds ideal and if the leaf springs do indeed have a break in period and sit flush with the front then OME has my money.

I currently have a shell, an ARB bumper, the 883 coils, Nitrocharger gas shocks, Dakar leaf springs, & AAL/extension bracket mod/stainless steel brake lines. I'm slightly arched in the rear of my truck due to the AAL, but if I added about 200 to 300 lbs. of weight into the truck bed, my rear end will go down. The tires in the pictures are 15". I currently have 16" 4Runner wheels installed on my truck. I'll have to upadate my pictures soon.

Did you move up to a larger tire yet? I remember these pics from when you first installed the kit. Just curious.

@Area51Runner: Yes, I did. I had my 16" 4Runner wheels powdercoated black and installed a set of Cooper AT3 265/70/R16 tires back in October of 2020. I'm selling the 15" Chou Seiki wheels in the pictures and will include the tires with it, if anyone is interested. Please PM me. I need to update my pictures. Thanks for asking!

Good bud. No complaints at all. Could use some more drive time but that's on the horizon. Funny enough, that AAL definitely did the job with the cap and added weight from the rack and gear. No sagging here.

    How's yours doing?

Cool. Other than the occasional ATV trip, I won't need an AAL since I never haul anything so I think I'll sit flush-ish.
