I mess around a lot with old fords. Here’s my 87. It rides like a old truck. Like others have said, it’s all relative based on what your used to. I’m used to old fords as I’ve driven them my entire life. My Tacoma , albeit an SR, is literally like a Mercedes to me. If you’re used to cars and don’t use a truck for what it was built for, then just buy a car. Some of the Subaru awd wagons seem pretty sweet and have plenty of room and still pretty capable for mild off-roading if that’s what your after.

    Nice truck!!!

My highschool buddy used to own 1990 white 4x4 F150 Single cab, long box with the 4spd and that beastly 4.9L inline 6. We did brake stands in 2nd gear, was fun! That thing was a blast to drive, definitely drove like a tractor. That Ford never broke down, it had a minor power steering seep but thats about it.

3rd gen MT tacoma drives like a sportscar IMO. I had a 2007 Ranger and it drove like a tractor as well, all in comparison i guess.

Smaller fixes that go a long way with the manuals. Redline MT fluid, OV Tune, Accumator Delete, etc. The manual isn't perfect by any means and I've had to ignore other Tacoma quirks and truck size issues because I enjoy being able to row my own gears.

Never "trade." Sell, and then buy the replacement. Separate transactions. "Trading" puts you at the mercy of the dealer.

True, but sometimes, when trading in you save more on the tax then selling the truck privately.
