My girlfriend absolutely rocked a big bump pulling into an alley. At first the steering felt a tiny “loose” but seems normal now, but now whenever I pull into a slope my driver side that took the big hit sounds....crunchy. Anyone know what to check for? Bent spindle? Something with my toytec lift or SPC arms? My cv boot looks fine.. arrgggh

Pull the wheel and take a look. I'm sure you will probably find the problem.

I am in the process of fitting 35s and did not see this mentioned in thread. On each fender there are foam trim/blocks? Are people taking them out or shaving them down?

I took mine off. You may have to reposition and glue them if you wanna keep them or shave them.

Thank you for the response. Any drawbacks from removing them? Water seepage? More dirt accumulation? More ambient noise in the cabin?

Finally got my tires mounted the other day. Sitting on dobinsons IMS coil overs and dobinson’s leafs in the back too. Got a little more than 3 inches of lift up front. JBA UCA’s. 17 inch 4Runner spare steelies with 4.5 backspacing on spidertrax 1.25 spacers.

Cab mount is chopped, pinch weld hammered flat, and I trimmed the fenders. Still rubbing the cab mount pretty good. A more aggressive cut is going to happen soon.

I have my gears being changed to 5.29’s March 1st and I’m already OV tuned.

It was a lot of work but I’m glad I went 35’s!

I love the FJ steel wheels! I tried to find some for my setup but I decided to go with the SEMA wheels. Didn’t even think about 4Runner spares. What did you do with the alignment?

Ya I was trying to find fj’s for a long time and after some research found out 4Runner spares are pretty much identical but run cheaper and are easy to get.

As far as alignment I’m not really sure, that stuff is all like a foreign language to me. I just took it to a shop that looked like they worked on wheeling rigs and figured they’d know what I wanted. Here’s the numbers they gave me back

Been researching and reading like mad.. going to 35's and have been looking to swap wheels at the same time.. but maybe not if the fitment is good with my current wheel specs. Currently running some OG Mickey Thompson Classic Locks in 17x9 -12mm offset/4.5" BS. I have been looking at the RRW RR6-H's in a 17x8.5 -25MM offset/3.5" BS to pair with the new 35's. After more digging.. I'm stuck between a -12mm offset/4.5BS and a -25mm/3.5BS wheel on which one would work/clear best. Any input is appreciated.

From reading this thread it seems like the best back-spacing for fitting 35s is a 4.0 BS. If in doubt, get the 4.5 BS. You have the option of running wheel spacers with that, making them equal to 4.0 BS. You wouldn't have that option with the other wheels.

The guys who actually have 35s would need to confirm, but that's what I've gathered here.

    Hi guys
Does anyone know how much more trimming will be required on a TC 2" LT compared any other non-LT lift? I went through a good 2/3 of the thread and I didn't see anyone with a LT setup and 35's.

Its the same, having long travel doesn't make wheel wells larger. In some cases there might be additional interference due to slightly more uptravel, but I've never seen anyone actually make up travel comparisons.

That’s because this thread wasn’t created for folks running LT. We do however have LT threads in the suspension section.

That said there’s some folks out there doing it and you will have more work cut out for you.

Got this done last night, it's the one part of fitting 35's I wasn't comfortable with. I'm happy I decided not to do it myself cause it wouldn't of came out so clean lol. 2.5" was cut off for the win!20210307_194341.jpg 20210307_202616.jpg

We left some tabs so I could have attachment points for when my fend ex liners show up.
