You leave the dishes dirty, so it eliminates that.

At the tailgate to the lowest point of the back window with it open is 34.5”, inside the cap to the lowest part of the ceiling is just under 37.5".

You can also remove the rear glass pretty easily with a small wrench. Doesn't make it any taller because the hinges are somewhat recessed under the top but may give better room for handlebars and such. I use to fit my large 27.5 in the back with a soft shell. It's probably going to be close

I just found it weird trying to put the spacers under the cap, then realizing that the bolts in the rear of the cap were on an angle. I ended up having to cut out the middle of the spacer to get the bolt to align correctly. I could have slightly offset it, but I didn't think of that until afterward.

I actually measured mine at the bed, with similar numbers. I had no cutting involved, I posted a picture of my bold locations a couple posts back.

I thought I pushed them all the way in. I’ll have to loosen the bolts tomorrow and double check. I appreciate you checking

This is normal, the tacoma bed narrows as it goes back as well

Build a pulley system in your garage for it. Thats what I have done. Haven't used it yet, plan to this summer when its warmer and the days are longer and I plan to remove the cap, seal the bed up, and then re-install the cap.

    THREAD UPDATE:
I got in contact with RSI again because they sent me new gaskets and the new ones were leaking in water as well.
Turns out, the previous customer service rep I was speaking with sent the wrong gaskets and now they finally sent me another set of gaskets for the windows. This set appears different so I know they are actually updated.
I tested the windows in the closed position (windoor closed) and the water didn't leak through. Opened up the doors with the window shut, and it leaked through, as the rep said it would. He said there's an overflow and its designed to leak when the side doors are open, then when you close, it will not leak again.
Well, my was working until I closed the windoors again and then came back out to check on the progress, the water still leaked through, into the bed.
We got a dusting of snow, it melted and leaked through the window.
Im still testing, as some of these were a little fast, but I am not sure if the latest gaskets worked or not to solve the leaking windows.
I got a bunch of bins for my stuff too, for the bed, but man spending nearly 4k on a cap, I'd like to have the option to not use bins or be able to sleep dry back there. I will get this solved.....

I’ll try to get you some probably won’t be for a week. Basically what I did was take some foam blocks cut them to fit the gap left by the front bed rail, then used black RTV silicone to get everything I could with the cap off. I then installed the cap and had someone hold a bright light outside to see all the gaps. On the side of the bed is the plastic cap that kinda wraps around over the top. Look up under here in the front corners that’s where there’s a pretty big gap you can’t get to. That’s where I used the spray foam. It didn’t take much.

Post #170 on this thread shows how I used some moldeable glue for the bed rails- but @Kingair84 is right, there’s a lot of spaces, especially those corners, where you can’t easily get to with the Sugru Glue. I haven’t been brave enough to go after it with the spray foam yet, but I’m in an arid climate and don’t expect my bed to be completely watertight.

crazy to see this thread has gotten this long- there are some good looking rigs on here too! For a while I felt like I was the only RSI cap in the road, but I’ve been seeing them in person more and more lately, and not just on Tacoma’s but Tundras, Fords, Jeeps as well. They’ve become pretty popular here in Northern AZ, which makes sense for sure.

Changed up the decals on the debadged area again with some help from @Afilao - fun stuff, the possibilities are endless..

    Apology for the Debbie Downer.

The heat from the exhaust, can draw condensation.
If you live in Africa, no worries.
Here in the U.S., we have moisture. Some regions more than others.
The heat from the exhaust is enough to warm the interior and/or contents inside, to draw condensation. Then anything (tools, etc) will rust.
I seriously feel RSI needs to address, insulating the interior for all stateside sales. If not, regionally.
Until the condensation issue gets addressed, I'll steer clear of their cap.

    No exceptions.
I won't be spending 4k+, then insulating (myself) what should come from that way professionally from the factory.
And I do really like this topper!!

Not really. The way everything is packaged individually and the cook top stows, we haven't noticed much noise at all. Here's our shop Gladiator in the RSI booth at the Big Show in Dallas, TX this weekend.

RSI follows TacomaWorld and is definitely taking note of feedback. We have not heard about any plans from RSI to provide insulation for the interior, but that doesn't mean it it won't happen in the future. For reference, RLD is a similar design cap at a similar price point and they do not provide insulation. Luckily there's lots of caps and toppers to meet a wide variety of needs and wants if the RSI cap doesn't work for you.

I can appreciate all you do for TW. Your Consumer Relations are Top Notch.

While "other" options are available, my top choice is RSI.
However, the design engineers need to realize, the climates vary widely in our country.

I feel if RSI were to entertain a pre-installed insulation package, doing so would be advantageous to their sales, and re-enforce the backbone of their product.
I don't think I'm alone on this, even though I feel that I'm being seen as trying to degrade the product. Which is not my intentions.

I get what you are saying, and I’ve had both insulated and Uninsulated (all fiberglass)I usually have an RTT above mine and it does wonders blocking heat in the summers. I’ve never had an issue in winters with the dog in the back (granted he’s a Saint Bernard) but I really have never seen much of a difference. My .02 and I’m in Colorado fwiw.

Finally got my prinsu rack on. It was definitely a pain in the ass to get it bolted on being that the railing on the smartcap tapered inward towards the rear. I had to adjust the brace brackets on the rack so that the bolts wouldn’t hit the positive air vent. I’ll post some close ups later.
