    very true and may not be worth the effort for the OP. I'm have to go that route if I decide I want flaps. I have a HC rear bumper so the rear body panels and fender liners were trimmed.

    Rekgen owner here, and love them. I got them during the 4th of July holiday and was able to use a 15% off code, but would consider playing full price. My only gripe is that they ship with silver screws instead of black.

    California law requires fenders that extend beyond the tread of the tire. That is supposed to be adequate to protect other vehicles from spray and kick up. Many States have a similar law and some actually require mudflaps on pickups especially during the winter when sand is used as a traction aid.

    I ended up installing RekGens.

    I read on here before that you have to register any pickup as a commercial vehicle in California... is that true?

    If so that seems expensive and dumb which I dont think they should be able to do cause I know damn well not every tacoma owner in cali has a CDL!
