It appears that if you need to replace the $20-30 driveshaft boot on a 2nd Gen Tacoma, at least from Toyota... you will need to buy the entire driveshaft for about $900.

    Any ideas?

Has anyone used the Spicer #211932X boot kit?

From what I can see it looks identical to the original Toyota boot as it is illustrated, but they don't list the ID for both ends or the overall length.

The original boot is four ribs/five if you count the bigger end, 4 3/4" long, and the ID is 1 3/4" on one end and 1 1/8" on the other.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B...3&pd_rd_w=K1j52&pd_rd_wg=KUHWB&ref_=pd_gw_unk

EDIT: I installed the Spicer #211932X boot kit and it fit perfectly.

It appears that there may be another boot that might work.

Spicer #211916X is the same ID as #211932X at both ends... 1.67" and 1.14" respectively. #211932X is longer, being 5.03 inches compared to #211916X at 4.07 inches long.

I measure the original boot, at least on the shaft, as 1.102" and 1.693" and 4.75" long.

You take a pic of where it is on your truck as the only boots I have ever seen are inner and outer cv boots

It's on the slip joint... on the rear drive shaft. Right behind the carrier bearing.

Yup, that's the one I mentioned in the first post. Have you used it? Does it fit? Actual experience?

EDIT: I installed it and it fits perfectly.

Rebuilt both driveshafts on mine with Spicer/Dana parts including the slip yoke boot. Worked fine, everything fit as it should. Wasn't surprised by it though, Spicer/Dana makes those driveshafts for Toyota.
