From what I have heard you cannot do solid trans with out solid motor mounts. Once you do solid motor you are good to go with a solid trans mount.

I think with solid mounts you will get a little bit more vibration but the truck will put down the power a lot better.

    Hope this helps.

Definitely helps. Thanks guys. I know it'll transfer more into the truck.. but at this point.. I feel it would be pretty minimal in the grand scheme of things. The truck is just loud and squeaks, and rattles already. I just want to keep this from happening again and gain the performance benefit with the solid mounts.

So.. then I should JUST get the motor mounts.. and leave the trans alone. Is this the general thinking.. or because I'm running the valve body @Lucario Runner ?

DMZ solid motor and trans. Just do it all at once and be done. Makes a major improvement

was gonna go with Bonzens mounts. The Solid Offroad mounts. I'd prefer not to do the Trans if I dont have to.. just because of the valve body. It's already violent and hard enough. lol

Are you running one of the spicy trans tunes? Could always dial that back some. Personally I’d do them all so things are solid

Well I just looked up the DMZ ones.. and I dont see a full kit. Just gussets.

and no, the Valve Body is a beast on its own. Its shifted hard since day one. thats why I DONT want to solid the trans..it might be too much? :notsure:. I look at it as software vs hardware.. I already have the hardware to make it shift hard.. IDK how more hardware on top of that would react.. if that makes sense.

So you cracked your crank case? There must be some epic wheeling story behind that.

Yeah they’re not on his website I don’t think. The gussets are for 2005-6 models only. He’s got solid mounts for motor and trans, just need to call. I’ve heard mixed reviews about fitment from various other companies but these were perfect. Did hear that bonzens were too as well though.

Pretty standard stuff here. Mine cracked back in 2015 and I've been running JB Weld on it ever since. No problems. Lol.

Normally I'm not a fan of those type of repairs but given it's location and how stupid it sounds like it is to replace I'll just stick my JB fix.

Never solid mount the trans but not the motor. Unless you like broken bell housings.

Got ya. I'll compare pricing. Talking to Bonzen now.. possibly might get some expedited.. otherwise itll be a couple weeks, which isnt terrible I guess. It's just gonna be sitting at their shop.

thought about that route too.. they even mentioned it. hmmm.. IDK, with my luck.. it'd fail. quickly too. I think its better just to truly replace it and do the motor mounts while I can.

Its the cheapest option and doesn't add in complexity to the driveline angle. I have the brozen mounts on both my 1gr trucks

Solid Offroad Motor Mounts ordered. should be here later this week.. and the truck will get buttoned up then as well. Hoping they can work with me on labor cost.. since I just took it to them last Friday to get this fixed.. paid 400 bucks.. for it to still leak. So basically because they didnt do their due diligence.. I paid for a 400 dollar oil change. I trust them and have used them for years now, so I'm sure they'll take care of me.

I went Dirt Designs got engine and auto tranny. Pretty damn nice price point if you ask me and they had them in stock. Nice units. Total pain in the ass install, but that’s true of all of them.

Dude if I did it in the sand dunes with several napkins and a container to drain the rest of the oil out of the oil pan then you can do it too without it failing. It won't fail as long as you use Quiksteel or Steelstik. You basically do one layer let it cure a while and then apply your second one over that.

Seriously, my repair of it was that on the spot on the fly, because I had no other option. I drove it over 200 miles straight home after I let it cure for like an hour and fifteen minutes. Lol. It works and that's all that matters.
