Thinking of getting rid of my '10 Tacoma DC 4x2 TRD OR. It has about 13,3xx miles, never been smoked in or off road at all. Aside from tinted windows, window vents, and stock size Michelin MS2 tires (I hated the BF goodrichs and changed them out at 1,277 miles), it's bone stock. It's white and has the JBL/Bluetooth/Satelite radio and tow package. Changed the oil 3 times, last two with Mobil 1/toyota filter, first time at the dealer. It's also had the transmission and spring TSB's completed.

Any ideas on what the value is? I'm seeing numbers all over the place. I'd rather sell than trade it in.

    Thoughts?

I recently bought a bigger boat that I'm want to tow, and plan to get a full size truck or SUV to do that.

That makes sense then. These trucks have really high resale values so you should be able to get a good amount to what you paid for it

I would think so to..but I'm saw a one at the dealer almost identical (different color and only 4K miles) for $24K..which means they must have around 20-21 in it. I think I paid around 27k for mine new; that seems like a pretty big drop for it in a year. If it were a domestic truck, I'd understand the 20%-30% drop, but I thought Toyotas did a little better than that.

I just ran it through Edmunds for your location with your options. Edmunds seems to have the most realistic price estimates.

    Trade/Private/Dealer
    19604/21255/22608

The $21k private party value seems reasonable. Price it at $22,500 and deal a little.

Toyotas depreciate almost the same as anyone else. Plus, think of all the bad press it's gotten in the past year (recalls, news stories on safety, etc.). Has to have driven the resale values down.

search your local Craigslist or cars.com to get an idea of what yours goes for in your area. You should consider trading it in for a Tundra with little out of pocket.

I tried that at the selling dealer I bought the Tacoma. They started at $10K difference on a 2010 leftover Tundra (not even 4x4 or leather)..and I walked off. They never would tell me what they would give me for it..just trade difference.

I'm thinking either an F150 or Tahoe.

^ that post came out totally different, the retail for the truck shows 27,975 and the numbers before it are trade in then trade in clean.

Most dealers today use autotrader.com for trades value.

Probably true, but OP said he rather sell it then trade it in so I provided NADA.

I would..but I'd trade it given a decent trade in just to avoid the selling hassle.
