My truck's original tires (Toyo Open Country A30 P265/65/17) have run for 44000 miles and I thought it was time to replace them (3/32 left and I couldn't wait any longer). I decided to go one size up (265/70/17). My choices came down to BF Goodrich KO2 Load C vs Toyo Open Country AT III SL. I was going back and forth between the 2 choices. I initially ordered the KO2s from Costco. The black sidewall version was always out of stock and it took more than a week for them to ship. They are still in transit to my local Costco at the time of this posting. In the end, I decided to go with the newer and lighter Toyo tires. I ordered them online from Discount Tire and they arrived in just 3 days at our local Discount Tire store. I haven't bought tires from @Discount Tire before. Overall, the whole buying experience and service was very good.

I resisted getting new wheels. It was a struggle. I was shooting for all black wheels. After seeing these Toyo tires mounted on the stock wheels, I am satisfied. The stock Sport wheels aren't bad at all. Truck's suspension is also stock. No rubbing as expected.

Thanks, no issues at all. I’ve always ran 10 ply tires, so I’m pretty used to them. They’re quiet and smooth. They are a little bit stiff, but overall a great a/t.

I bought them at discount tire and they all balanced with 0.75oz or less.

Its a little hard to sift through 50 pages of comments, is there any sort of general consensus made on this vs the Wildpeaks when it comes to MPG / road noise?

1 more question actually, wouldnt a KO2 in C rating be stronger vs sidewall (usually where you puncture on trails) vs an E in this tire since the sidewalls are stronger?

Your truck looks great! Did you intentionally have the “less aggressive” side out with your new tires?

Very true brotha.. I have the exact same set up.. 10 ply was a great choice in these AT3's.. your rig looks badass...
these guys on here think I'm lying when I preach on these LT tires being great and ride smooth.. (they try and say they ride like lead filled bricks) you can back me up on this bro.. by far they DO NOT ride like lead filled bricks

Both sides have raised lettering. The less aggressive side does not have the extra grooves/lines around the sidewall. See phtoto below of the “aggressive” side of tire (from an earlier post in this thread).

Any comments on comparing to the Wildpeaks in same size and sidewall rating?

I was very deliberate with which side I had facing out. Both sides were exactly identical, with the exception of the white letters. I’m not sure what the deal is, but I have seen the different sidewall designs. I did confirm that they’re all 10 ply tires.

Correct. They’re a little stiff, but they do side smooth.

I’m amazed how smooth these are BUT I am coming from BFG KM2s 255/85R16. My current set up are 285/75R17 E.

Truck looks great on those tires! More aggresive side of tires is out!

There is a subtle but noticeable difference between the 2 sides. The “more aggressive” side has extra lines or grooves on the sidewall. see photo below from @BroID with those lines marked.

So here’s what I found. The sidewall tread is certainly a different pattern, but isn’t really much more aggressive. It’s only marginally taller. It isn’t aggressive enough for me to have them switched. And besides, I’m not a fan of the raised white lettering. When I purchased them, I asked specifically for the BSW version. I was unaware that the sidewall tread patterns varied. 3D336BB0-6D3F-4AC7-9D9F-1A8CC88DE8B1.jpg404D6173-751F-43E9-A048-0B3A7FA17788.jpg
