COLD START: Temperatures are below freezing early this morning over parts of Alabama… here are some readings just before sunrise…

Look for a nice warm-up across Alabama today… with sunshine in full supply the high today will be in the 68-73 degree range. The average high for Birmingham on March 8 is 65.

REST OF THE WEEK: The weather stays dry with a warming trend through Friday thanks to an upper air ridge over the area. Look for low 70s tomorrow, mid 70s Wednesday, and highs around 80 degrees Thursday and Friday.

THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: Saturday will be a partly sunny, warm day with a high between 78 and 83 degrees. The day Sunday looks dry, but clouds will likely increase, and we will bring in a chance of rain and thunderstorms Sunday night. We do note that SPC has parts of Arkansas and Louisiana in a severe weather risk in their “Day 7” outlook for Sunday, but for now it looks like the dynamics will be weaker as the system moves into Alabama. Certainly sometime to keep an eye on as the week progresses.

NEXT WEEK: The pattern becomes more active as the ridge weakens across the region. After a chance of rain or storms Monday, another system looks likely toward the end of the week… too early know if severe thunderstorms will be an issue. Highs through the week will be close to 70 degrees… See the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.

ON THIS DATE IN 1909: The town of Brinkley, Arkansas, was struck by an estimated F4 tornado, which killed 49 people. The tornado, which was two-thirds of a mile wide, destroyed 860 buildings. Entire families were killed as houses were completely swept away by the storm.

ON THIS DATE IN 1998: Three days of heavy rain sent floodwaters from Beaver Dam Creek churning through the small South Alabama town of Elba as a levee gave way. 2,000 of the town’s 4,000 residents had to evacuate as the downtown area was under 6 feet of water. Very cold weather would follow the flooding just three days later with temperatures in the area dropping into the middle 20s.

Well the little fuel cell is done, time to install now.
Started out as cardboard and the ceramic coating was done yesterday, turned out pretty nice for a custom job.

It will hold two and a half gallons. That should make several trips down an eight mile track.
It is going under the hood so it had to be pretty small

Didn’t know that. I’m just trying to find something that doesn’t poke the tires eighty feet away from the truck but can get some more travel. Know anything about JD fab +2.5?

Welp, I turned in my two weeks notice today. I’ll be moving into the defense/aerospace industry as a project manager

I’m a little sad to be leaving automotive engineering because it’s my passion but maybe I’ll be able to work on my truck and make some rides now.

In and out in 20 minutes. Great shop they have there. Thanks for the referral phil! I have trust issues with most auto mechanics but I got a warm and fuzzy feeling inside when I found out the dude that did the work was a proud OR owner. Guess I'm going to have to get my new tires from there too

Yeah it gets pretty good travel #s. If you get a 8.5 wide wheel with minimal offset like 0 it'll put the tires really close to the spindles but it'll look almost like stock. Didn't I send you a link to a guys build page with the JD kit and the wheels barely sticking out. I went with the +4 kit and with the wheels I plan on running it'll be about as narrow as a normal 3.5 over LT. As far as LT built for more our type of wheeling the JD Fab or the MC are your only choices they really do a good job with the LCA not sticking down too far and acting like anchors.
