    After I disassembled my center console to clean up a spill, this part popped out from somewhere but could not see where from.
    Anybody know?

    It appears to be the shift lock release button rod.

    Nice job Jimmy.

    That’s one of those parts that not important until you NEED it.
    I’d put it back in, if you ever have a dead battery or need to move the shifter to a different gear with out the key, you HAVE to have that part.

    Thank you very much for the response.
    Said orphaned part has been returned to its rightful location, firmly ensconced within its spring. I didn’t even have to remove the center console, only the shifter housing.
