I drove thru Chicago last June about 2 in the morning with hardly any traffic and it was still dam stressful, and I honestly don’t know why other than I just wanted to get to the other dam side ASAP.

This year, as a family, we're trying to eat healthier, develop better habits, so I bought a bread maker. We've had it for a few weeks and only been making the recipes in the instruction book. So far, so good. Anyone have any bread maker recipes they really like?

My bread tastes range from white bread to potato bread.
Hopefully a more refined pallet can help lol

Honestly, I'm similar but I would like to find a good sour dough recipe. My favorite so far is what they call their French bread. It's just flour, yeast and a tiny bit of sugar and salt.

Not sure how it works or if it works with a bread maker but I’ve always heard the key to a good sourdough is the starter. Making it sounds pretty straight forward but I’ve only tried making a gluten free version and it didn’t work out

I just put this in a couple of months ago. https://www.ebay.com/itm/293952120717?chn=ps&mkevt=1&mkcid=28.
I am happy with it. I was able to find an old iPhone that I could put up to follow the vid. Plus it has a neet button that you can put on your dash that when you push the button it will record 30,45 or 120 seconds to be saved. Sometimes you may see something coming and you want to get that view.

Aside from that, I looked at my snow shovel today and wondered if it's time to put it away, then I remembered the April fools storm that we got a few years ago...

I haven't ventured into that realm yet, it'll be the next step. Sour dough may not be break maker friendly but I'm willing to try that on my own. I'm really liking having fresh bread in the house.
Ha, of course there's an entire thread for bread! TW really does cover all the bases.

    Thanks

I've got some good bread jizz if you want some. I like the Clever Carrot recipe. I like to do it in a cast iron dutch oven thingy. https://www.theclevercarrot.com/2014/01/sourdough-bread-a-beginners-guide/

And for the discard sourdough crackers are so damn good. Like legit fucking awesome. And super easy. https://www.kingarthurbaking.com/recipes/sourdough-crackers-recipe

Like most other nerds i've been doing a lot of baking since 'rona started. Been doing 1 sourdough loaf a week, and at least 1 usually 2 sourdough cinnamon raisin bread loaf's a week. Plus crackers every few days from the discard.20210219_093359.jpg 20200819_124736.jpg

Thanks I’ll give that recipe a try. My first attempt at starter was rather half hearted and I forgot to feed it, so that’s why it didn’t pan out

There’s a subreddit for everything and apparently there’s a TW thread for everything!!!

I got some frozen dough from the store a few weeks or so back. Take it out around 2 put it in a pan and then let it thaw and rise until about 630 7 and then make bread. For frozen save a lot brand bead dough it was good.

I work a ton of hours and the bread machines are stupid easy. Literally, just throw stuff in the pan and press a button. 4 hours later, boom, fresh baked bread #easybutton

I bet my family would love that sourdough cinnamon raisin bread!!!

IDK what it is, I like raisins by themselves but I don't like them in anything. I'm weird.
