I have one on order for my 2021 JBL system.

There is a video of an individual taking an OEM Audio system out of his 2018 and installing into his 2020.

I ordered the Signature Edition for my 2021 JBL system last week, but it'll be some time in March before it ships (at the earliest).

Agree, March is expected ship date, but that is not too far off!

    Aftermarket.

The company's name is OEM Audio so can be confusing.

It is plug-n-play but not a Toyota OEM part.

Interesting. Looks like a nice system but couldn't you build a better system for less? Sub housings are nice but 8" subs are pretty small for this kind of money.

You may be able to build a system for less, not knowledgeable enough to say, but for those of us wanting a quality, good sounding, plug-n-play system, OEM Audio fits our desires.

Especially having a 2021 with the SOS system and the other minor changes, OEM Audio can do the research and makes things work.

I was just getting ready to drop an email to OEM Audio to ask for an update and thought I'd check the forum first. I've got a 2020 and participated in the preorder. Haven't gotten an update in what seems to be quite some time. I'm starting to think about canceling the order and just modding the system myself. I really only want more bottom end anyway and I can do that for a only a few hundred bucks.
I'll post up any response I get.

Of course, if anyone has gotten a full system, even the 2016-2019 system, I'd love to hear the feedback, too.

    2016 non jbl upgrade.

im big on rolling my windows down at night on the freeway on a long drive and vibing out to some tunes. With the old set you couldnt hear a thing, with the upgrade you can hear everything. well worth it to me imo, its been 4 years and system is still kicking.

That's not the point of the system though...if you have the know how and time and energy; $2600 is a big budget for an upgrade. For a layman who doesn't fully grasp the difference between wiring a DVC sub in parallel or series it's a significant upgrade from stock without worrying about frying something.

I have one on order also, been a month since last update.

I had their system in my FRS and it was great, so I am being patient, although about to pee my pants.

For the plug-n-play convenience, the price is worth it for me.

Of course you can - this isn't a surprise to anyone. I priced both options and using *quality* equipment will cost at least that much, if not more. Moreover, I wanted a sub replacement that would fit in the JBL location without having to replace the plastic behind the rear seat - that plastic alone is more than $400.

I'm still waiting for my order. There was ambiguity about when it would ship, so I messaged OEM Audio on the forum and this was the response I received on February 16, 2021:

Thank you for your message and for participating in the Preorder of the Signature Edition for the jbl-equipped Tacomas. We share your excitement!

Timing as listed on Preorder Details: We are filling orders in the order by which they have been received. We shipped the first batch of Systems orders in late December this last week. Mass Production is scheduled for completion in March. However, we are committed to expediting the production based on demand. Getting Systems shipped, delivering our intended results, and providing feedback within the community is a priority.

We are scheduled to have accurate timing for you based on your order date and time by the end of this month for newer orders such as yourself (order date 02/09/2021).
