I can lead trails outside of darling line if things lead to them. I did the darling line once, for me it was just a drive in the woods other then when I thought I would drive into some water, almost tipped over off camber then took water into the rig and had to be winched out haha.. the eotb guys after were like oh yeah that's why we don't go in there!! lol haha worked out ok thankfully other than swamped carpets.

I have no desired to spin wheels all day attempting things that are 2wd in summer conditions. That's just cranky old covid fighter me these days.

I am with you there, this is just in case there is still plenty of snow on the ground.
I just dont want to have the same as last time i tried the Calabogie line, where we tried all entrances and had to give up on all of them after just 100 meters. There was 3 ft of snow
We can also decide when we get there, if all the snow is gone, we can cancel the darling line and do the other ones.

Some pics from last spring, 1st wknd of May through 3rd wknd of May. 1st pic was up on lk Superior, the next 2 are north of Sudbury towards Ishpatina ridge. It is as expected worse than it looks. There were a couple moments when I wondered how much shovelling was in my future, then a week later totally flooded! We finally made it up to Isphatina ridge early June!

Hi do you have a maximum number of trucks you feel comfortable with doing that weekend?

I might have more interested from outside tw, but I don't want to make it too big and unmanageable.

Honestly the more the better in my opinion. Makes it alot more fun with more people. Is there a set date for it now? And what will be the meeting place amd time for Saturday? If any of that has been arranged?

Arrival date for us from far away will be Friday April 9th at night.

There was someone that is going to lead us that asked for the group not to be too big. that's why i am asking. Too big of a group is not great either.

Meeting place is not planed yet, one idea is to meet where we pick as camping site(s).
One option would be to camp/meet around lake wabun, maybe do the trail around that area if conditions are reasonable. Darling line on that same day if the other trails are difficult. Sunday, i would leave to the guys from the area to discuss/plan (a bit of hiking during the weekend is an option too).
Around Wabun lake there is options for trails and camping, so we can decide on Friday or Saturday morning what to do. Conditions on ground on that day will dictate what we can do.
With possibility of snow on the ground, its impossible to decide in advance.

If we can camp at the wabun access Friday that might work well, if the hydro line beyond the dam is passable we would try to snag the dodge lake spot. I work Sun - Weds so I can head up there nice and early and see what is happening then post up in here so there is a meeting spot. Too many rigs is not ideal, maybe 6-7 rigs is a nice group, especially when we don't all know each other and how we all drive or how much individuals want to take on.

I hope what happens is all of the options present themselves for us and ppl want to get back because there is a lot out in the area to enjoy.

Who is bringing a dog? I will have mine with me, he is a 10yr old lab/collie mix that is about as nice and polite as a dog can get.

Anyway I keep forgetting I am on this shit schedule...FFFFFF I will try to get the Sunday off.

Quick question: does anyone plan on staying past Sunday? I have a weird work schedule so I’d be coming up Saturday night.

I'm nearby. This would be my first Tacoma meet. I'm pretty new to off roading but have been to the darling line and off shoots of it a bunch without issues with some local groups. I'm in. I probably won't camp though.

Since I’m off tmrw and was finally able to take a half day away from fighting covid in the community I figured I would spend a quiet night in the woods beyond the damn past Calabogie! Maxtrax came in handy, front and rear lockers came in handy also, lucky I didn’t make a bigger mess!
