I was going to post pictures of my re-grout job for the master bath counter. Potatoes too small, but I did blow my back out lifting a 5 gallon bucket of rinse water so I have that going for me.

 

It’s on par with what I’ve seen elsewhere in the remodeling I’ve done. None of it makes sense. Just glad it’s fixed and what I’ve found I’ve fixed and no damage.

Wife wants the galvanized steel type............have not seen stock tanks in plastic.............hmmmmmmmm...........thanks. I think.

 

It’s Tarter brand. We went with polyethylene in case we decide to switch to salt water.

 

Mowed the grass. Yes I know, revolutionary. I'm in my late twenties and this is the first place I've lived that I have personally been responsible for the lawn care. It was quite therapeutic. I will change my mind when we get that infamous North Carolina heat in July. 98ºF with 106% humidity. No photos, just thought I'd share. I'm finally adulting

People mowing already? Sheeeit I'm up in Lake Placid for the weekend, there's still a couple feet of snow on the ground here. We did some hiking and needed snowshoes, forecast low for tomorrow is -2°F.

Little more mild back home but I'll take the cold over heat and humidity.

Got a quote from a good buddy of mine that does a lot of concrete work today. For a 18x27 patio(odd size I know but it’s what fits best in the area I’m pouring) and a 4’x40’ sidewalk, and then on the front of the house a 4’x25’ sidewalk. Thoughts?

2k for just patio - 6 yards
2600 patio and rear walk - 8.5 yards.
3k patio front and rear walks - 10 yards. Prices include concrete, grading, forming, finishing.

This price does not include the 4x4 landing coming off the back of the house in brick and steps going down. Have to hire someone else to do that as these guys don’t do any brick work.



Price includes removing the white rocks and pouring a sidewalk which is out of view in this pic.

 

VERY reasonable in my next of the woods. But aspect things cheaper in NC

 

According to him a whole truck holds 10-11 yards max is around 1040$. Didn’t think that was terrible.

 

Yes, a truck is 10 yards, and thats a pretty good concrete rate if thats including trucking/delivery/fuel, taxes, other fees, etc, considering you're not buying in bulk and its a 1 time delivery location.

More than 1/3 the cost is material, so yes, thats pretty good deal.

Make sure you understand

• thickness of each element (4"min, 6" if you plan to drive anything like a ride-on mower over it, or have large planters, etc)
• type of finish you are getting (broom, trowel, stamped, salted, etc.) Many people like the look of trowel, but it turns into a skating rink in rain or snow.
• Includes some kind of reinforcing (likely wire mesh)
• subgrade surface prep (compacted subgrade, then compacted stone base, or just just subgrade)

 

Guess I never posted pics in here, but last summer I built a new deck at my place. Old one was rotting up and falling apart.

Anyone here have experience repairing interior drywall "ROUND" corners? Should I start a new thread?

We have 7 or 8 pretty well dented round corners. Should I approach this like autobody dents? Bondo? Doesn't seem like drywall mud would hang in there strongly.

I have taped and mudded and textured, so I have some experience, just never repairing fancy round corners.

Help!

 

Guess it depends if its metal or plastic. Metal id say rip out the whole corner and redo it. Or might be able to pull dent out.
