    :bananadance:

Been thinking about upgrading the Hobo RTT to have a solid cover for when i'm on the go as right now i have a canvas tarp that i sprayed a can of silicone lubricant on as a bag atm. Looking for ideas is all since the 2 times i went to Ardbeg, it was damp / wet throughout the trip.
Would also be nice if i could have a storage cavity inside it to be able to leave pillows and sleeping bags all inside it.

doodling and looking at old photos again, i have decided against a hardshell as it's too much bullshit to figure out a mechanism that'll work.

    gonna look at better tarps...
maybe if i made money on all these Kinetic rope sales, i'd be able to afford an IKamper mini

because i had a can of silicone lubricant, no wax, and about 12 hours before leaving the Ardbeg 2 last year.

If you want to go hard-shell, have a look at how the pop-up campers work.... might give you some Mcgyver ideas.

Or a hinged side fold down box...

Inflatable tent.... (then you have another justification for on-board air!)

Check out places that make truck/boat tarps. They can custom make a cover for you any size you want. If you want hard shell it wouldn't take much to make a lightweight cover out of plywood/aluminum. If I had a hardshell cover I'd just make it fully removeable and forget about any hinge system.

Was thinking of modifying a kijiji Truck cap and creating a 2x4 frame with gas struts off a For f150 from a scrap yard and a regular piano hinge from the Home Despot. Basically what i doodled.

I shall take that into consideration. would be certainly helpful but i would need to take a look it to see if it's good with flexible materials. Rigid might be good, but sometimes it's not great for fabrics.

a boat tarp would be an awesome thing to get. but i can see it getting a bit pricey, would need to look into that. the sketches i did above tried to fit it in but i found an issue where the solid cap/ frame wouldn't have room to flip up if i was to mount anything to the backrack (ie the watertank). if i were to design it as a fully removable cover and figured to use the push-style hood pins to snap them into place.

Today I learned some companies ship tires in cardboard boxes

Tread pattern on the Kenda Klever RT is slightly more aggressive than Duratracs, with deeper side lugs and provisions for #15 studs. The bead area has a rim protector bevel as well. One tire weighed 65.4 lb. Real Commie tire made in Vietnam!

Funny, I have a '17 OR also and replaced my battery the 2nd week of January. I had the fortune of replacing it again last week, but I thankfully just had the misfortune of getting a dud.

I just grabbed the Carquest special for now. Once I decide on the dual battery setup I'll be getting a pair of matching but not sure which ones.

I would like a dual battery setup but no one in Ontario makes a cage for the 2nd battery.
I wish someone would do it.

The shelves must be getting close to being empty by now.

Ok @Shveet you sucked me in again.....FOMO.....Since I don’t eat brownies for breakfast I ordered this morning so that I didn’t end up with 5 recovery ropes. Now I have something to put in my ammo boxes!

    :spending::canada:

I had to buy a couple other little things to get over $50 for the free shipping.
