    Direct bolt up!

If you have an e-locker it will not fit, but if you have the standard open rear end you're golden.

Correct. That would be the 8.4 diff. Not the E-locker 8" one.

Well guys, it's that time! Ordered today finally and beyond stoked to get this bad boy in.

Just waiting on the guy I'm supposed to swap to ADD spindle/hubs with. Not sure if that's going to go through or not...

It's been a week and several hundred miles later, NO leaks! FFS it took dropping the trans 5 times in four months to get it right hahahah! I'm beyond stoked though. Truck feels like pure awesomeness to drive around in and finally feel rewarded after all this work. Can't wait t run her on the trail today.

What's the plan with the front diff? Are you doing a regear or just adding a front locker & swapping to ADD?

I'm gearing it to 5.29s with an ARB air locker up front and swapping over to ADD hubs.

I know the axel shaft ends where they go into the hubs are different, but if the splines are the same on the diff side (which I am assuming) then I am going to keep the solid manual extension tube from the diff rather than using the ADD diff tube.

No leaks still! I think front coils are too stiff @ 700# but valving is good, rear shocks need to be valved for sure. But awesome shakedown! I only tore one shock hoop off. Going to plate the top of frame and double sheer them in with a bed cage for sure.

Wise choice getting rid of the manual hubs. The outer stub shafts is 6mm smaller in diameter on the manual hubs. Your assumption is correct that the diff side stub shafts are the same.

Gotcha. Yea that'll be a great setup. That's what I plan on doing eventually as well. Keep the manual hub intermediate shaft and have everything ADD outwards from there.

Will go through more transfer case front output seals since the D-shaft will be spinning all the time with no front disconnect, but whatever.

I've been through 1 seal in 5 years and it was off of a junkyard case that who knows how many miles or how long it sat for. No different than the rear output really.

It seems that everyone has different luck with the output seals on these cases.
I had good luck with them up until recently. Replaced both when I did my dual and then the front started leaking like 1500 miles later.
I do have a longer & front DS with a thicker wall tubing, so maybe that plays a roll

I believe I got all that stuff from RuffStuff.

Thanks man. I hope so too. I went into all of this knowing there will be a lot of breaking parts and figuring stuff out. Despite the frustration, I get just as much enjoyment building as I do driving it.

It gets harder as you get older , I’ve been wrenching 26 yrs and I enjoy a good mod or fabricating something to save a few bucks ! I still love finishing something and taking a step back and going “damn I did that “ . I don’t think it will ever get old .

Ordered some ADD hubs/spindles off ebay this morning as I've had no response from the guy I was supposed to trade with...

All that remains for the 4x4 to work is just a front driveshaft to complete the puzzle. Im dying to know what it is actually like to do "real" 4x4ing.

What are you guys using for storing gear/straps/fluids in the back of your trucks?

I've been using Home Depot totes and they're all cracked and keep flopping off my ratchet straps.

Unintentionally, the truck has gone through 13 quarts of gear oil. Going to claim I have no idea where that oil is now. It had somehow left the transmission between November up to a couple weeks ago. However, I do know that that last quart had jumped out of my cracked tote and has been dribbling around in the bed mixing nicely with all my tie downs and straps flopping around back there.

I use the rigid tool boxes. They lock together and there's a few different kinds/sizes to use.

I use DeWalt's tough boxes. One is full of truck fluids and the other is my camp kitchen box. Super easy to move around and they are pretty bullet proof.

Thank you guys for the suggestions. I'll definitely take a look at those two. Got her all cleaned up and ready for another the next run, hopefully with all four wheels getting power.
