I have never seen a shock body so corroded in all my life. At least you can still count the threads on the steering end links, maybe they were replaced last week?

Maybe the pictures make it worse than it is. But I would want to find out how bad it really is before sinking money into it.

I'm in Buffalo NY, I bet half the members here are clueless in regard to the amount of snow we get every winter.

I love how people are writing a truck off based on one photo of a sway bar. He said the truck went through a recent annual inspection and passed. What would a licensed mechanic have to gain by passing something unsafe. Especially in the litigation happy society we live in.

I'm in Clarence, a half hour outside of Buff, and i get a lot more snow than they do in the City. My truck looks nothing like that.

The amount of snow the OP gets in his home area (and the ensuing road salt) is not at issue here. People can live wherever they like to live, whatever spins your beanie, it's all good. We are questioning the safety of a vehicle with significant rust issues, to put it mildly. And keep in mind, the OP asked if it's safe to drive the vehicle. So I'm not at all surprised about all the safety concerns posted here, and nobody else should be either. So what if it passed inspection? That doesn't mean it will survive hauling its full payload up a long steep grade. But apparently some people think a vehicle that passes inspection is as sound as a brand new vehicle, for better or worse lol.

I mean the rust is bad enough his sway bar endlinks broke apart, can't imagine everything else isn't in a similar state.

Lots of people in here obviously live in a perfect little world, where they can look at other peoples problems, and say how bad the truck looks. Such big help. If the OP wants to fix it, lets help, not pile shit on him.....

While some were overly harsh about it, i think the point was that the truck shown, and with he limited views provided, warrants further review. Those on this forum, and familiar with issues with this vehicle, would suggest that the OP'ster not put too much stock in the vehicle having 'passed' am annual general, inspection. Toyota 'misses' rotted frames when actually focusing on that actual issue, and teh small shots provided by the OP'ster are ominous, without question.

A closer look at the truck would be highly advised.

    Well, yes. Basically.
Most of us live in a world where we have enough leisure time to browse TW, and offer input when someone posts "Is this safe to drive?".
