SG2 codes

just got my scangauge2 set up. i was wondering if there were any other useful codes for the first gen's. ive got the tranny temp and horsepower already. tried altitude but it didnt work. anybody got any others?

 

I don't have a SG, but I do I have an Ultragauge and I monitor the following:

Screen 1
Instant MPG
Trip MPG
Coolant temp
Intake air temp
RPMs
Engine Load

Screen 2
Throttle Position
Fuel Consumption (gal/hr)
MAF Sensor 1
MAF Sensor 2

 

ya right now i monitor my trans temp, instant mpg, rpms, intake temp, and water coolant temp

 

IIRC there are about 6 or 7 sets of codes that will actually do something in 1st gens. Sounds like you have a couple of them already.

I have a list at work of the Xguage codes I put in my SGII. I'll see if I can find them tomorrow and post them for ya.

thanks. ive got the tranny temp and hpr. what does the mass air flow measure? and ive tried the altitude and it doesnt work on my first gen either

 

It would have been very cool if the altitude one were to work. It woulda helped to settle a lot of arguments.

Now I'm not sure on the MAF one. I think its purpose would be to give a baseline on the performance of the sensor.

I thought I had entered the MAF codes and had a result but I was scrolling through all the readouts today on the way home and didn't find it under that name. When I get a chance I'll review all the xgauge entries I've done to see if I might have used a different name.

 

okay. ya i need to erase the altitude one that i plugged in. definately woulda been nice for that to work

 

what rate on you running your scangauge on? it says not to run ISO's on fast but thats what i have mine on and it doesnt seem to have a problem

 

Does trans temp work on first gens? Didnt work on mine..

 

yup. works only on first gens. ive heard toyota wont give them the codes to get it to work on 2nd gens

 

Hmm. I guess Ill keep trying and if it doesnt work then maybe retrying the code? Idk..

 

just double check and make sure that you input the code correctly cus one little thing off and the entire code is f'ed
